Personal background
I live in Monza, Italy, but was born in Tuscany in 1970. Though I'm a chemical engineer I work as a webmaster, programmer and other IT activities. My hobbies include astronomy, computers, and science in general: so it is not surprising that I found the SETI@home project very interesting.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really think that we have very small chances to meet intelligent life on other planets, just because our history shows how little has been the time span on which humankind has evolved (nobody knows where we're going, in other terms), and because our physics limits our traveling speed to the light speed (for the time being). However, as long as this small chance exist, we MUST try, as the meeting with an alien culture would be the greatest achievement in Earth's history.
