Profile: Jason Tackett

Personal background
I am a 25 year old student at Kansas State University - Salina. My current major is Computer Systems, and in the future I hope to study physics as well. For many years I have had a strong interest in astronomy and science. After college I would like to combine what I learn about computer systems and physics, to make number-crunching programs for researchers in astrophysics. Hence, my interest in SETI.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I certainly believe that life exists elsewhere in the cosmos. Considering our universe is allegedly infinitely big, there is a great chance that another world with life can be created. Granted, the chances of finding that distant civilization seems very remote. However, it is in our nature as humans to explore and to learn. It is this ultimate curiosity that has brought us from writing on cave walls to listening for messages from other worlds. I very much support SETI, and I am confident that someday we will find our intersteller neighbors.
