Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI has been an excellent way of contributing to science. It's also a perfect benchmark for testing home built computers. Sure beats paying $400 for a copy of BAPco SYSmark 2004.

One suggestion: Just go with total credit and dump the 'recent average.'
