I am early retired from what used to be GE Aerospace (now part of Lockheed-Martin) here in Florida, about an hour north of the Space Shuttle launch site.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I cannot imagine that other life does not exist in our vast universe. Wouldn't it be wonderful to make contact with other intelligent beings? Perhaps they could teach us more in a nanosecond than what it has taken us thousands of years to achieve. I think we'd be extremely egotistical to believe that we are the only intelligent life in the entire universe.
I run SETI at home in order to contribute in some small way to the discovery of such life. I've always been fascinated with the wonders of our universe and of our mother earth herself.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
