Hello all E.T's
My name is Mikael Höög. I live in a small town called Strängnäs that lays 80km Southwest of Stockholm (Sweden). I'm 27 years old and was born in a town called Eskilstuna on the 1st of April 1974 :0)
I work as a teacher in IT-technologies but will become an IT-Consultant shortly due to cut downs in our company (Rigel Consult AB).
My interests are computers, science/science fiction, nature & wildlife, movies and my girlfriend Ylva-Li.
It was the "Science fiction" part of my interests that made me want to help you guys out by searching for Extra Terrestrial life through SETI. I'm convinced that we cannot be all alone in this universe. I could go so far and say that it's impossible; there must be other life forms out there!
I run the SETI client on approximately 20 computers simultaneously and have been doing that for almost a year (I think) now. But my total Computer time adds up to over 4 years (1480 packets) by now and I am the founder of a group called PowerMongers.
I really hope that it will be one of "my" computers that decrypt the first message from space! :0)

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. I know that extraterrestrial life exists and I know that they have discovered us. In time we will discover them. Benefits of such a discovery are the advanced technology. The biggest danger is that they can se how we kill each other in war and how we perform autopsy on all life here on earth. I think that they are smart enough to keep out of our way, don't you.
If they come, god help us, they will be hostile!
2. I think we should transmit beacons to try to reach out (It's worth the risk). I just hope that we can convince them that we "come in peace" so that we don't "go in pieces"! :0)
3. By now you should know why I run SETI@home. I think that the project is an excellent idea and I will stick to for as long as I live!
