I am a 63 year old ex-truckdriver. I was kicked off the road by a spell of legionella (wich nearly killed me in 2006) Now I try to fill my time with computing and vollunteer work with elderly people. If there are misspellings you'll have to forgive me because my native lingo is Dutch. I am still married to my Inemarie, 35 years now and still going strong.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do not know if E.T. exists, but it would be verry stupit to asume that in this enormous universe earth would be the only planet that supports life.
I think that it is verry important to find our counterpart, because this might
bring the human race with its feet back on the ground. It might start people to think about how 'gigantic' we are (not). I am not sure about the good we would gain out of meeting another lifeform, or this lifeform would gain from us. But comunicate over a distance would be a beginning. This is why I support the SETI program and hope to help by running it on my laptop.
