My name is Loretta. I am 44 years old, and I lived most of my life in Brooklyn, NY. Nine years ago I moved to NJ when my husband and I got engaged, and we live here with our three cats.
Besides being an Internet junkie, I love anything to do with vampires--lore, fiction, non-fiction, movies, collectibles, etc. My favorite music styles are gothic and industrial, but I enjoy many other styles as well. Some of my other likes are archaeology, photography, travel, reading, movies and museums. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I think SETI@home is a great project and I'm happy to be a part of it. I do believe extraterrestrials exist, but considering the vastness of the universe, even if they are significantly more advanced than us, I have my doubts that they'd be able to contact us over such distances, let alone ever visit us. But it's worth a try!
I do think humans should transmit a beacon into space for others to find. It should have basic information--the name of our planet, its location and basic geological makeup, human population number, a list of major human accomplishments including space travel, an explanation of how our planet is divided into countries with many different cultures of people speaking different languages, a list of the prime zoological and botantical species, images of humans, animals, cities, rural areas and oceans, and a warm invitation to visit or contact us to find out more! |
