A cheerful sort and a Derby dweller; I enjoy beer, full-bore target rifle shooting, equestrianism and reading. I only ever wear a tie for weddings, funerals and when competing in dressage competitions.
I despise liars, frauds, cheats, taxmen, mountebanks and prigs and I pour scorn on the lazy, the prissy and the violent. I revile usurpers, imposters, the indolent and all manner of charlatan. I loathe tyrants, bullies and equivocators, quacks and bigots, and all those who either glory in their own wilful ignorance or seek to manipulate or promote the ignorance of others for their own ends. Most of all, I hate coxcombs, the vain, the politic and they that beat their wives.
I hereby vow to fight the good fight, on the side of the forces of light. I will take my stand against that vast serried rank, that army whose banners are fear, taxation, ignorance and oppression; I make these my enemy, that hoard of pettiness that is sallied against me and I will thereby achieve, if only by the strength of my own hand and the exercise of my will, a new Jerusalem, here in England; a free, fair, low-tax, equitable and clean world for all. |
