Been a while since I was here, looks like the boinc client is a lot more stable now, so giving this another shot.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Late May 2000

2. Theres always a chance that we'll find something real. Its worth the skyrocketing cost of electricity to take that chance.

3. Chances are, if we DO find intelligent signals, they will have come from so far away, that there is a good chance that the civilization is already extinct. Look how close we've come to doing just that. As for transmitting our own signal - we've been doing that for decades - but refining the signal would probably help flag ET down. Our luck, they'll turn out like the movie "Invasion From Mars". Keep your Slim Whitman albums handy!
