Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does ET life exist? It would be a great waste of space if it didn't, but that's what we want to discover?

When and how will ET life be discovered? When politicians tell the truth.

What are the dangers? People will at last question religious teachings and dogma.

What are the benefits? People will at last question religious teachings and dogma.

Should we transmit a beacon? Yes.

What information should we send? A basic "handshake" protocol: zeros and ones in a mathematical progression.

Why do I run SETI? To help debunk the notion that there probably is ET life out there.

My views on the SETI project? I think there's nothing to find. But finding nothing is a step forward.

Suggestions? To SETI users: Run other distributed searches, too, such as cancer cures.

To the SETI team: Keep on looking. Perhaps publicize a bit more.
