1.Yeah, we think other life planets and dimensions are both likely. Don't know if humans will ever discover it, but benefits and dangers are no different whether or not we can prove or witness existences. If they exist and know about us, it makes no difference what we know.
2.Yes, why not transmit a pathway for others looking for...Just send our radio frequency so they can transmit a signal back to us.
