Profile: Lior B.

Personal background
I'm a 24 year old in Manhattan (AKA "THE BIG APPLE"). I graduated from Wharton @ UPENN in 2000 and worked in financial services until this past year. I'm currently starting my own business, as corporate America "sucks."

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Anyway, I've always been fascinated with space and the potential for extraterrestrial life. I remember taking some courses in college in astronomy in which I learned about Drake's equation (the formula used to calculate the possibility of life in our universe). Let's just say that the little green men have to be out there. Now if they would just give me some superpowers I'd be very happy.

Humans, by nature, are unique insofar as they yearn to be pioneers in every facet of the word. Hence, space is such a thought-provoking and fascinating expanse that humans are naturally drawn to it. It is man's duty to evolve into a higher order being, and space offers this opportunity to grow. Therefore, man must search for signs of other civilizations that could teach him a great deal about: himself, his history, technology, his universe, and his future (sorry ladies for not making man out to be a "her." I didn't forget about you ;).

The Seti@home project is an incredible feat of distributed computing power. How could one not want to be a part of this project?!
