Profile: Cesium-137

Personal background
I live in Connecticut, USA. I'm a college professor, and my field is literary theory. However, I've had a lifelong interest in physics, cosmology, and extraterrestrial life. I teach a seminar on the literature of the paranormal. Of course, today, physics and what used to be called the "paranormal"are more and more similar. Curioser and curioser, you might say.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given my profile above, I'm interested in being a small part of the search for ETI. My suggestion would be to have an easily accessible text or video that tells new non-scientists like me in layman's terms 1) what seti@home is doing as it runs on my computer 2) what the "points" are and 3) what teams are and why one would want to join.
