Profile: Mystery Bedouin

Personal background
Hi all. Well, I am a 45 y/o man who lives in Toronto, Canada. I have been a believer that there MUST be sentient life on more than just this little "blue green planet at the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the galaxy" (with apologies to Douglas Addams for usurping his work there!) for as long as I can remember. Whether any of them, (there's got to be more than one!) has mastered FTL travel yet is debatable, time will tell. I am very happy to be able to assist, albeit in a very small way with the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. Many "small" pieces can combime into one very large whole after all; and every SETI@Home participant is a vital link in the chain, as far as I am concerned. Please feel free to contact me to discuss anything you may be compelled to. TOGETHER, we ALL make a difference!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am a firm believer in the existence of ET life. I am yet to be convinced that we have NOT been contacted yet by at least one other race; but that is merely supposition on my part based solely on anecdotal evidence: nothing empiric has been brought to the fore in this regard so far. I personally would find definitive proof of ET life to be a boon to humankind. (Provided that "they" were not hostile to us). Alas, I fear that the vast majority may not take it very well at first. The implications, most especially to "Organized Religions" would be far reaching. But nothing that we all, as one race, human, couldn't deal with given the opportunity and time to adjust. The human race should definitely be sending beacon signals into deep space for ET races to find. As to their content? Well, anything that Voyageur had on it seems pretty appropos to me. I run SETI@Home because I want to participate, and be a part of the greatest endeavour of human kind. And that is EXACTLY how I feeel abot The SETI Project!
