Personal background
I live in a small suburb of NORTHERN West Virginia (any other part is considered "hickish"). I'm 15 and currently enrolled in High school. I enjoyed the activities of pyrotechnics and computer technology. My drink of choice is Diet Coke and my favorite food is chicken (preferably spicy).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Any person who doesn't believe in an outside intelligence is a fool in my book. We are an insignificant spec in this massive void that is the universe. How can someone say we're alone? The universe is STILL expanding! The probability of the existence of other life forms is growing by the day. And, yes, I do believe we should transmit a signal or send out a probe just in case an entity does exist. I think on this beacon we should include a sort of map to Earth so that the receivers could come and visit us. I think our greatest mission, and maybe our purpose, is to find out what and who we are. And we, as humans, can only go so far with our limited knowledge. So that's why we should seek help from extraterrestrial race. I run Seti@home because I feel like I'm contributing my part to locating our purpose....our being.
