Personal background
I'm 53 years old, are Italian and have not graduated even though I understand the sciences and mathematics.
They are looking for an economic model and as such the social, environmental balance, most of the search for alien beings is what we need urgently, essentially another way of life, other values, other logics, consequently a new politics.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Fermi's paradox shows clearly that the alien civilizations inevitably something happens that prevents both to travel in space, is that they cease to exist.
The only possible answer to its solution is contained in the second principle of thermodynamics.
The activities scope from science and technology generated on a planet is a self reinforcing positive feedback, inevitably leads to erosion of its environment with extinction mass self produced, if not stopped before.
The great benefit of this initiative is to get to anything.
This means having to change models, values, actions, realizing that the path taken not lead to any alien civilization, but only to our self-destruction.
Who is mentally fixed on alien civilizations, as on the current scientific paradigm of endless progress, totally unrealistic, without ever considering the thermodynamic retroactions, is a useful collaboration in order him to stop with these wrong fixations.
That's why I participate to help in the failure of Seti, helping you to understand what I have just written.
