Getting the Cogent Link Working - May 30, 2002

(click on images for larger versions)
This afternoon we, with the help of central campus, were finally able to make the switch over to the new 100 Megabit Cogent link. As of around 23:30pm GMT users today around the world should have noticed a suddent ability to download workunits with speed and ease.

In this picture we are seeing the "first light" of the bits going over the Cogent link. The orange bar at the right of the graph shows a sudden leap from 0 MB/sec to over 30 MB/sec. That's Jeff, who has been working hard on this, watching in astonishment.
