1) Questions and Answers : Windows : ATI Graphics Cards and the No Graphics Problem (Message 190879) Posted 20 Nov 2005 by CedroWilly Post: I have 3 PC's with ATI cards, 1 PC with an NVidia card, and 2 laptops with NVidia cards. The graphic screensaver for Seti@Home works on all NVidia cards and does not work on any of the ATI cards. All computers are running WinXP Pro with SP2 and latest fixes. I'm using BOINC v5.2.7. The ATI cards range from the 9600 Series and 9800 XT Series to the X850 XT...all AGP. I've tried Catalyst drivers ranging from version 5.7 to 5.11, but the results are the same...unless you uncheck "On resume, display Welcome screen" under Display Properties->Screen Saver, you'll get a black screen instead of the graphic screen saver. I did try loading a non-Catalyst driver and the graphic screensaver for Seti@Home worked, but some games that were working on the PC prior no longer worked. If you don't care about returning to the Welcome screen to force a logon, then it's no problem. This is not an option for me and was not an issue when I ran Seti@Home Classic. When will this be fixed for ATI card users?
