That's a pretty heavy dosage.

The chill pill post was the best idea in this thread. Most of you are coming across as a bunch of whiny bitches. Let's see you design a DC project that goes off without any problems whatsoever.

My impression of what happened was that the memory chip was faulty which caused an enormous backlog of work to be done and this backlog ended up screwing over the rest of the system. Maybe I'm wrong about that but it seemed like there were no problems until they announced that their memory was faulty.

But the Credits are screwed up in my opinion. When somebody only has 1 WU turned in for say 25 Granted Credits but they are showing 190 some recent credits I would say that is screwed up.

It's not recent credits, it's recent average credits which is something completely different. An average can be higher than a functional number. For instance, you can travel at a speed of 100km/h and only go 50km. Your distance traveled is now less than your average.

I love all these people who post saying that the program has bugs in it without even checking if the error is on their end first.

Go to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/ and go into Your Account (you'll need your account ID, it should have been mailed to you when you activated the account). You can set what options there are from there.

10) Message boards : Number crunching : Recent Average Credit, what's it for? (Message 1669)

It's fairly simple. You can look at the recent average credit as the speed at which you are getting credit and your total credit as the distance you have traveled. To continue the metaphor, if you traveled 50km at 100km/h the speed you traveled at is greater than the distance you traveled. There could also be someone who has traversed a much greater distance at a slower speed so their total credit would be much higher than their average. In the opposite case however, recent credit exceeding total, this shouldn't last too long.

How can it be that someone who joined the project yesterday has a TOTAL credit of 42.60, but a RECENT AVERAGE credit of 215.48???

Simple, if you drive roughly 100 km/hour for half an hour and then look at how far you have traveled (50k) but if you calculate your average speed over that time you get a number that is higher than the distance traveled. I look at the average recent credit more like how fast you are currently processing (i.e. your speed) and the total as how much overall work you have completed (i.e. your distance traveled). There's nothing wrong with their math.
