What about those of us who liked to read the display? I never used it as a screen-saver. Rather, I watched it's progress, and the data displayed. It was mostly greek to me, but that never stopped me from being fascinated.

I tried to watch the current one a few minutes ago, and the font is blurry enough to hurt my eyes and make watching it impossible for any length of time.

I don't care if it spins...I can stop that. I just want it cleaned up.

Don't waste your time. There are NO arguments [even 100% valid] which might convince the people up here, being in blind love with their new "ugly child" [like someone here called it]. They're not using logical reasoning anymore, and they'll be feeding you with their PR propaganda all the time, that all's well and why the new one is the better. It isn't, you know it and I know, but they have us deeply in their *sses. As you can see here, you can only take to your mind that the classic GUI has gone forever [even if it's only a GUI matter, not BOINC, and it could be simply done]. So, don't waste your time. Maybe when more people will be abandonning this project they'll see at last what they have done wrong. I hope only there won't be too late.

Couldnt agree more. Let's see how many responses you get proving your point, lol

awwwf, what a shame, is there anyway of obtaining the coding for it so myself and my programmer buddies can develop one??
Seems the simplest way as we can have a good stab at it and then worse happens can only blame ourselves.
all on in thanks for the info

I tried that many times, set the rotation and everything else I could find all over the shop, high(very entertaining) low, (still jumped around). just didn't float my boat. Is there no way to re-integrate the grahic interface of the old version, obviously with adjustments re stats???

Would have to agree on the 2D creen saver being better in some respects.
1. it doesnt make tou sea sick watching it.
2. the 3D version is only a 3rd of the time clear as the angle of view is
generally naff.

Yea, I know, just put this message and something on my profile reflecting that meantime. The bit on here as it's always possible for people to go into the formums more frequently than their team page. lol, thinking by the looks of it if we were to kick unactive members that'd wipe most of them out, lol !
I'll be issuing an email to the members once I get time to, work's a bummer for taking up time, lol

Greetings, As you may have noticed the original founder of the team has not been active for some time. I recently made claim to take over the position, and am now founder.
Would be looking for suggestions, and any advice from anyone re setting up a website and stats rated matters, or anything else you can think of so we can bring the team back to life!

Am looking for some team spirit here, which means team involvement, this way all is fair.

Oh, and I like to add, for all that can afford to, if they would be able to make contribution to the project as much funding is needed to keep SETI alive.

Thank you

alrighty!
cooling problem solved, just had to get some extra ventilation and a larger sinc and fan in place. Problem now being noise!
Anyone got a quad core chip yet?? Will be my next step and am really looking forward to see how much heat build they cause

main problem is cooling the system overall. The cpu isn't worth bothering with until I get that under control as if the system temperature is breaking 45'c can't exactly expect the cpu to be any cooler

ahharrr! Have just been toying with new setup here, got a dual 2.88 Pentium, am a bit wary of letting loose with the overclock option on the motherboard at the moment as having serious problems with ventilation, but for now it's running just under 60'c with everything going full speed!
anyone got any suggestions re decent processor cooling that wont cost the earth???

Hi, this is exactly the type of message you get when there is a problem with a memory module. Either you have a program that has allocated that memory slot, or your memory stick in slot 1 is faulty. try removing this memory stick see what happens then

Have been looking at these multi core chips, don't think they're that great an idea, at least at the moment. too much heat begin built up. don't see them having much of a shelf life.
