I ran out of patience and went to the google cache page (May 2nd). There I was able to download version 6.6.20 and install it. It is now running on this box. I noticed that when I did the uninstall earlier that it did not remove the data files that are in the Documents and Settings path. These were picked up by the new download and began where I had left off. I guess I'll see if there is still a password problem tomorrow morning.

Thanks

All the links on the HOME page seem okay -- with a few exceptions. When I try to download, I get a link broken response. Is the link really broken, or the site down? My BOINC would stop every night and indicate the password was not correct (?). I could EXIT and go to the Programs Menu and restart it and it would be okay for a day. I finally removed the application from this system, and now am unable to download a replacement.

Looks to me like the mechanism that sends the work units is backed up. Where in the past, I received a new work unit about every 4000 seconds and had it queued up when the current unit finished, now I am processing a new work unit in under 40 seconds and waiting for a new one.

I'd say that in the past, if you were sending say 500,000 units every 4000 seconds, now you are trying to send 500,000 units every 40 seconds. You may not have enough bandwidth to do that.

What is the problem today? I looked at the server status and it looks like essentially everything is down. I hope it is scheduled downtime and not another catastrophe.

I have been experiencing the same problem. I have a "fresh" Windows XP load on a laptop which connects and performs fine. I have a desktop that I updated with the latest Microsoft patches and it will not connect. I did the double click on the BOINC.exe and that looks like it is running . . . but the older version. (I also upgraded to the new BOINC version when I started having problems.

There is no GUI response . . . The error message displays after several minutes and when acknowledged, removes the window and the BOINC icon out of the task bar.
