Posted 19 Sep 2011 by Ricky Graham Post: I have 3 machines on my desk. 1 is a windows pc, 1 is a linux pc and 1 is a vga swith! Linux does linuxy things and windows does windowsy things. No point comparing them. I only have a windows machine as its easier to run GPU's on BOINC! However using the various aspects in windows today reminded me why i went linux in the first place! |

Posted 18 Sep 2011 by Ricky Graham Post: 'He' has a handle to his Jug Claggy and this question was more specific to the card and not to the theory behind GPU crunching. If your going to jump on peoples threads with pointless observations i.e which threads i have posted on before, then think about it before doing so. Clearly 'I' posted the thread and 'I' wasnt happy enough with the original answer. My second post was more specific to try and get an answer from one of these GPU gurus running Linux. As someone suggested in my first post. So to wrap up. If you have nothing useful to say Claggy, dont say anything |

Posted 18 Sep 2011 by Ricky Graham Post: Thanks guys, I bit the bullet and went back to windows and it appears the GPU is still not working. Ozz, perhaps i picked you up wrong but i was really asking how i should get around the problem. I was far enough ahead to note that i was using stock aps and linux to which i am aware is an unsupported combination. But my real point is that other people have gotten around it. Perhaps my question was aimed at the wrong audience. My apologies, particuarly to Ozz. |
