Bingo, re-installing Lunatics squared it away. CPU WU's are downloading and crunching again.

Thx all.

Thx, I'll try the lunatics installer as the last time I ran that was on the old drive. For reference, the lunatics site ( lunatics.kwsn.net ) looks down, hopefully a temporary thing.

Background: My cruncher's drive mostly croaked about a month back, would not boot or repair. I finally got a replacement SSD drive (fresh win 7 OS install, was able to mount the other drive and xcopy over the Boinc \program files and \programdata stuff), and then did an MSI install of Boinc, taking it from 6.12.6 to 7.3.15, after which, boinc seems to work fine, it picked up on the WU's I had.

I'm able to get new CUDA and AP WU's for SETI. *BUT*, Seti won't grab CPU tasks now (but I can get them for projects such as WCG). My Seti@Home log entries for past week patterns as:
Reporting 2 completed tasks
Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU
Scheduler request completed: got 2 new tasks <-- 99% CUDA, sometimes AP
This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress

I know the settings in the web & local settings, they look fine, I've done restore defaults (I don't have separate profiles, I run a single box). At this point, I think it's something in cc_config, but am open ears on suggestions to get Seti to again pickup CPU WU's.

Thx.

I'll go ahead and assume it's not your power tab or personal hardware. If thus, be sure you don't NEZ yourself.

Congrats on 100 megabytes worth ... astounding achievement.

That's 4470 points per each of your 22,382 posts. Woulda been even lower, save those periodic Time-Outs, umm, badges of honor, you get now and then :-)

... I'm only able to post every 12,500 or so points.

Sounds like the "Independence Day" virus authored by Jeff Goldblum .. sorry, I couldn't resist.

Sooner or later a WU was bound to have the arbitrary characters of a virus signature ... none-the-less, it is a false positive since it's not executable code.

.. but if it really keeps you up at night, select the WU in Boinc, select Abort, double check that's the one ya wanna nix, and click ok. I'll crunch it if you won't ;-)

Should keep me going for a little bit.

Given your 2 RAC's, should keep you going for about a day ;-)

And that's the goal, run down all the queues and swab the decks. I sort of wished they had set the deadlines to everything outbound to maybe 3 days max instead of the typical ~6 weeks.

I don't mind folks having a 40 day queue in general, but this month the admins are calmly trying to clean the slate for a larger cause.. and gloming onto a warchest of WU's flies counter to that.

7168 NVidia Cards, 14000 modern CPUs.... 2.5 Petaflops !! Crickey. Ok, who can bust out their calculator and put that in terms of Cobblestones per second ?? How many hours to match the splitting & crunching for 10 years of S@H ?? :-)

Well, once they do report again, we'll all have a new BoincStat "Best Day" result.

Somewhat ironic, as the list of personal "Best Days" in boincstat is actually a list of the worst periods of S@H project uptime ;-)

13) Message boards : Number crunching : Sudden computation errors (Message 1037324)

Post:
I typically manually exit Boinc before initiating a planned shutdown. No particular reason other than habits, and perhaps the hope that it might initiate a checkpoint save of all in-process WUs thus saving some re-compute time after reboot.

That you were getting computational errors could mean something on your system was in a zombie state (ie: your GPU), and therefore it zipped through your backlog, erroring away until it ran out of WU's ---- but that's all rampant speculation.

Not much you can do about it after the fact except perhaps sift through your event logs to see what blocked the shutdown, and perhaps what it took prisoner along with it, and plan around it for the next time (ie: if it was a bum driver at fault, update the driver).

Assuming the converse that you'll be potentially issued re-issued WU's that will none-the-less be reported in ahead of you, but you'll go ahead and crunch them anyhow. Not a problem, per se, as I beleive the 3rd & 4th wingmen still get credit, but it doesn't advance the overall crunch picture as quickly as it might otherwise do.

You're aware you can either link accounts, thus re-claim your old credits or just highjack back your old account? Not that it matters of course, but you seem to be fighting for some identification it seems.
