I'm glad to see this thread. I'd already decided to never again donate a penny to Cal, and unfortunately that includes SETI and BOINC, until the university starts welcoming diverse opinions on and to its campus. As you can see by the lack of a star by my name I've already started. I'll continue to number crunch but others will have to provide the finances.

Kellyanne Conway is doing a poor job promoting the brand. She should try harder.

Ex, people typically don't buy things recommended by a reptile.

According to bloomberg.com, "Sales of Ivanka Trump merchandise jumped 21 percent in 2016, according to a representative for the brand. And the collection will be available in 1,000 stores this year, up from more than 800 -- holding to an expansion plan despite the defection of Nordstrom."

Facts are such a nuisance.

If the intent was to ban Muslims why are only 17% of them covered by it?
Because Trump has business interests in the other highly Muslim countries.

Why is it only countries Obama identified as terror risks? He must be a bigot too.
Obama never closed the borders to those people, nor did he prevent visa holders from re-entering the country.

1) Trump has business interests in the following countries (other than the US)
Istanbul, Turkey, Panama City, Panama, Seoul, South Korea, Toronto, Canada, Makati, Phillipines, India, Punta del Este, Uruguay, Vancouver, BC, Aberdeen, Scotland, Doonbeg, Ireland and Dubai, UAE.

So maybe your theory could explain why Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are not on the Executive Order, but what about Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbjan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brunel, Burkina Faso, Chad, Cocos Islands, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Mayotte, Morocco, Niger, Pakastan, Palestinian Territories, Qator, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan and Western Sahara? That argument falls a bit short.

2) In 2015 Congress passed the  Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015. It is currently the law of the land. It tightened the rules for people from Iraq, Syria, Iran and Sudan if they had visited those countries or were dual citizens of those countries. Specifically, it required an in-person interview for a visa if a person had traveled there after March 2011. In 2016, the Obama administration added Libya, Somalia and Yemen to the list of troublesome travel areas, bringing the total to 7, but also said that it would not apply the restrictions to dual nationals of those countries. So, the list was created by Congress, passed into law and expanded by Obama to include all seven of the countries targeted by the president's EO -- and it includes US citizens who have dual citizenship.

To the best of my knowledge Obama had no business interests in the Muslim countries not named, either. Funny how it's now a right-wing conspiracy driven by business interests.

One point of clarification, everyone, especially the lamestream media, keep referring to the Executive Order on Immigration as a ban. Not as a temporary halt. It would be easily fixed by a new Order temporarily halting all immigration until the vetting system can be vetted. No Muslims, No Christians, No Agnostics, No Atheists, No Rosicrucians.............No ANYBODY for 90 days.

("We're sorry folks, the US is closed for repairs. We'll reopen as soon as we get the gate fixed.")

Great point, JaundicedEye. I hope you don't mind that I put that on my FB page, giving you credit, of course.

This is the best response they could come up with? "We condemn in the strongest possible terms the violence and unlawful behavior that was on display, and deeply regret that those tactics will now overshadow the efforts to engage in legitimate and lawful protest against the performer’s presence and perspectives."

Protest the presence and perspectives of someone they disagree with? Even peacefully? Wow. Universities -- Berkeley in particular -- used to champion the free flow of diverse opinions. I don't know if that's what President Trump had in mind but it's my idea of making America great again.

What the dickens does "Task postponed: CL file build failure" mean?

For the last 2 days I haven't been able to run any AP tasks because they all give this message. My event log looks like this:

4/15/2015 9:50:17 AM | SETI@home | Task postponed: CL file build failure
4/15/2015 9:50:19 AM | SETI@home | Task postponed: CL file build failure
4/15/2015 9:50:21 AM | SETI@home | Task postponed: CL file build failure
4/15/2015 9:50:24 AM | SETI@home | Task postponed: CL file build failure

Any ideas? Thanks!

Thank you, sir -- you were absolutely right. I applied Norton Live Update and now all is well with IE.

Working fine here with Firefox, but didn't someone mention a month or 2 back that there was a problem with that site when using the latest I.E.?

Cheers.

Thanks to both of you guys! I'm using IE. Had some Firefox issues on other web sites so I don't want to change the default browser. Like I said, I can live without that site, just wondering what was going on.

Again, Thanks!

Is "BOINC Statistics for the WORLD!" down? For the last month or more I've been getting the following when I try to access it:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_split() in /home/setisy/public_html/stats/boinc-individual.php(1) : regexp code(1) : eval()'d code(1) : regexp code on line 1

No big deal -- I can live without it. Just wondering if they're down or if my computer is somehow screwed up?

Thanks!

The news is welcome Eric, but I still think that both News and Technical News threads shouldn't be open for just everyone to have a general discussion in as that would stop those that are to lazy to read through all the "thank you" posts (and other stupid crap) just to get the info that they need without having to ask stupid questions that have already been answered because they're to lazy to read through everything (I'm sure that you and the other guys know how thankful we are for these updates without us having to say so). ;-)

If someone wants to ask a question, surely they can do that it the Number Crunching or in Questions & answers sections.

Cheers.

I agree completely, Wiggo. Maybe someone could start a "Thanks" thread for everyone wanting to express their appreciation so it would be easier to find actual status information in threads like this.

On a slightly different note, all the AP V7 tasks I've downloaded have a ridiculously long estimated time (150:14:34). The actual run time is about 5:30. I assumed at first that the estimated times would straighten themselves out over time, but I have now completed 185 tasks, yet the inflated estimated times remain the same.

Increasing my work buffer to 10,10 days does little to help me get tasks since the scheduler thinks each one's going to take over 6 days to complete.

Is this a bug, or is there something I configured wrong?

The only documentation i know about that was posted on Vypers Blog:
http://vyper.kafit.se/wp/

Under the name: Running different Nvidia architectures optimal in same host with seti@home and other BOINC projects.

His target is to use two different GPUs on the same host, but you could adapt it to do what you ask for.

But be aware, is intended to use only by advanced users, and very few users could help you with that.

Thank you, Sir! I will give it a try, after backing up everything.
