I was having the same problem on my Windows 10 with the latest AMD driver. Reverted back to June's WHQL driver and haven't had the problem since.

If you are referring to the Windows 10 AMD GPU system, then stop Windows 10 from updating your GPU driver on updates. Open yellow folder and right click this PC. Go to Advanced system settings. One of the tabs on top will give you the option of stopping Windows 10 from updating your drivers. Re-install a good driver and try again. If it persists, you may have a bad card. I have to keep mine on Catalyst 15.11 to prevent certain errors.

Best of luck.

Turn version V7 to just Arecibo and V8 to GBT so that people can receive the data sets that they want? I like VLAR since I am on AMD. I know Nvidia users like Arecibo. Why can't we have a choice?

Let me re-word this.

Change the option from V7 to Arecibo datasets.
Change the option from V8 to GBT datasets.
AP split can be from either.

Is there anyway to request GUPPI only for GPU at this time?
I prefer those to MB. Lower temp on GPU and higher rack/time.

I wasn't aware of the big difference between Nvidia and AMD on vlar files.

1080 vs Fury X

The Nvidia maybe running two at a time. I am only running one at a time but the CPU time is a big difference.

For Windows 10 users, the way to disable crossfire is a program called ULPS. You can Google it to learn more. I run it right after I upgrade to the latest / beta version of AMD drivers. If your frequency seems out of whack, go to preferences at the bottom of Crimson settings and click Restore Factory Defaults and reboot. Your frequencies should be back to normal.

For 2X or more ATI users:
I have found that Windows 10 will activate crossfire automatically even though it is off on the Catalyst control panel. I found a program that will disable it in the registry. Since running that program, I am now not receiving as many inconclusive. In fact it has dropped off quite a bit to just a couple a day. I am running the latest drivers with no problems since that fix.

Pokey,

I had the same issue. Found out the the MB apps were running on the same CPU thread. This was causing the CPU to max on that thread and drop processing on one of the GPU. Check and see if the processes are running on the same CPU thread. I was able to solve my issue. It stop after upgrading my OS.

I am running Windows 10 build 10041. So far it is running better than expected. I do like it better than 8.1 so far. I am not running full SETI cache in case something happens in the next 3 days. If all works well, then I will go full throttle.

I have wondered if they have reach the capacity limits on hardware and software. With all the faster GPU and CPU coming out, can they (database keepers) keep up? I was worried about this last year. At least we have faster downloads from previous years.

cc_config.xml

<ignore_ati_dev>N</ignore_ati_dev>
ignore (don't use) a specific ATI GPU. You can ignore more than one.

To find the device number, open the Boinc event log and see which device number was given to it.

In this example of cc_config.xml the device number given to it was 1:
<cc_config>
<options>
<ignore_ati_dev>1</ignore_ati_dev>
<report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately>
</options>
</cc_config>

Great web site to learn more is at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration

Thank you Richard,

I ran 80% pure stock and then tried the instructions given on the command line to see if there was any difference. I am letting the que drain (No new task).

I had to switch to SETI beta last night just to keep the room warm. Slept like a baby with the 150+ AP's in que. Letting them drain down now. Probably go back tonight unless there is a big change on production. I also learned how to set my command lines with the text instructions that down loaded with beta. That was a big plus.

I had the same problem. I used the last good BOINC installer (last version I was on) and used it to uninstall. Then I installed the new BOINC version.
