Anyone toasted thier PC/laptop because of 24/7 crunching?
(Message 878263)
Posted 22 Mar 2009 by ![]() Post: I began to crunch ~9 months ago. It was in Folding. I mainly crunch with GPUs and two GTX280 have already died (they have been crunching ~4 months each one before they died) Yes, 16% in clock and shaders (memory at stock rate). Now I don't do any OC in my GPUs. |

Claimed Credit Vs Granted Credit
(Message 874603)
Posted 11 Mar 2009 by ![]() Post: The WU processed with CUDA appear to be over claiming. You are receiving the credit claimed by your wingman with a CPU processed WU. So if my wingman has processed his WU with cuda too, then we will receive both higher credit that if my wingman is a CPU-cruncher? In other words. The credit I get for a WU can vary according to the wingman I have? |

V10 of modified SETI MB CUDA + opt AP package for full multi-GPU+CPU use
(Message 873522)
Posted 7 Mar 2009 by ![]() Post: I'm crunching in a PC with a GTX295 and a 8800GT three SETI-cuda WUs at a time with the Raistmer's opt. packagge v7 that uses the MB_6.08_mod_VLAR_kill_CUDA.exe and it works fine. I wonder if I would get a better crunching rate with this new ones (v10 and so). |

CUDA and the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
(Message 853935)
Posted 15 Jan 2009 by ![]() Post: I only wanto to run SETI with GPU. I will do what I'm doing since the first time I used GPU on SETI, try it once a week o less (aprox.). If it crashes, I'll stop and try a week later and so. This has been my second trial (I have already left aside seti.cuda because it crashed my PCs)... I think that they have to do tests at Seti.beta, not this project. |

CUDA and the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
(Message 853896)
Posted 15 Jan 2009 by ![]() Post: I have just tried V6 (I have had to register at "Opt. Seti...") on both PCs. They now DON'T reset BUT: The first one only get "Calc. Error" in each unit it tries to crunch. The second one is crunching a unit, but this unit will take HOURS to be finished. Units similar to this one were taking about 10 minutes to be crunched with the original SETI program. I have decided to abandone SETI until they get rid of this error. |

Posted 15 Jan 2009 by ![]() Post: I have been trying seti@home cuda units in two PCs (each one with a gtx280 without OC) and almost every day I have a reset or video driver failure with some unit. The temperatures are relatively low (if compared with the temps. I get crunching in folding and Gpugrid which are higher and without problems). I think I'll wait until the units delivered be safer for crunching. |
