Now my flue has been given the all clear, I feel invigorated and hope to resume my activities within a matter of days.

Now Sydney, the sea air might be bracing and the pink gins might put a spring in your step but I'm not going to kiss you on the cobbles, but you might get a peck on the cheek if you behave like a gentleman.

Sydney, my little buttercup, no need to rush, the shelf is now firmly in place, but keep your equipment handy, just in case.

Now as for me dallying, I've had no time, I've had a man in, examining my pipes,I've been hearing strange gurgling sounds from below for the past couple of days. Apparently my flue needs a good service.

Oh my, tis a book not for the faint hearted, my pulse has been racing ever since I read the opening line; "Stick it right up there, now and keep it there as long as possible"

How did I know they were talking about putting up a shelf.

I do hope Sydney doesn't get any funny ideas, I know he's partial to playing with his tools.

Mr Gnu, I was obviously mistaken when I thought you were a gentleman.

If you must know ladies of my standing shoot bunnies...not do something so unbecoming as you suggested.

I've had more that my fair share on my recent excursion, I can tell you, gentle
men are always promising me something magical.

The last that tried led me into his parlour, got his wand out and put on his Harry Potter glasses and cloak.

Now Sydney, my little buttercup, my dumplings are just as plump and juicy as they always were but it takes a little more time these days to make them looks as good as they they used to.

I thought I'd never get back on my feet again.

But I'm back from my travels, I know I'm a woman of the world but my goodness, do I feel invigorated. I feel ready to put my wares on show once more, I just need to get a little practice in first.

I've had a handyman in and I have to say, my veranda has never looked so good, now all I need is for someone to share it with, which reminds me, how is old Sydney? The last I heard he was having problems with his spectacles.

I agree , I've never been one for that. But Sidney has often suggested that I occasionally try a bump and run.

Well, truth be told, sometimes I worry that I set too rigorous a golfing pace for my dear Eric. He is great on the front nine, but by the time we complete the back nine the poor man is so tired that he has to lean upon the ball washer.

That brings back memories, I remember when I was back in the clubhouse, the members used to ask me to get the soil out of their dimples.

Angela, you are indeed lucky that Eric has the control of his club to manage to putt out.

I have found that Sidney, on occasion, has experienced problems when addressing the hole and has developed somewhat of a nervous twitch, which can be somewhat off putting.

Oh dear. Well fortunately my Eric is still quite the Tiger... Woods that is, as his follow-through is excellent. But I absolutely insist that we only golf together. I have no interest in a threesome or a foursome.

Rumours are abound that Sidney has been asking about my whereabouts, I wish to inform him that my absence has been due to the fact that I have been reacquainted with an old golfing friend.

He's been showing me how to hold his club and I've promised him if he gets stuck in an awkward lay I'll pull out his wood and nibblet.

Sidney, my dear, you forgot about the time on my veranda, when you stimulated my clematis.

What can I say, it's so very remiss of me to take so long in returning to the bosom of my dear friends. But I was intrigued by a book that many of you may have come across.

You know I'm talking about Fifty Sheds of Grey.

I never knew you could do that with two Brussels sprouts and a turnip, just wait 'till I tell Sidney. If you ask him nicely he may show you the next time you see him on your travels.

My dears, it's been so hectic, but the promise of Sydney's cracker failed to ignite my embers. But I have rolled my sleeves up and pounded away in the kitchen.

I've never seen my meringues looking so stiff. I just hope they can last the distance so I can show them off in the morning.

I have to go now, I still have to stuff the turkey, wish me luck.

Merry Christmas to you all.

I have been reliably informed that as Christmas time approaches once more, that Sidney is desperate for me to pull his cracker.

Last year he couldn't wait to get a look at my Plum Duffs.

Alas, at my age, gravity does begin to takes it's toll. But vigorous exercise in certain areas does seem to have some benefits. I was hoping Sidney could have given me a hand, but he seems to be on manoeuvers in some unknown location.

I do hope he's not dallying with another, I did warn him that if I caught him again I'd cut off his weekly allowance.
