Posted 3 Apr 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: GoodMorningAfternoonNight...I am on vacation and have not seen any of you lately...I have avoided the on-line world for the past few days...just waking and dreaming...What have you been up to? Working. Trying to survive another 2 days then the holiday is here. ..also trying to figure out what's up with Boinc and why it's not been crunching like it used to. My RACs have dropped all across the projects. |

Which is as it should be. We shall see how things pan out...and I will even see if I can get crunching again on my old account and maybe even try to optimise this hunk of junk.. I keep this computer running on willpower and charity at the moment. |

I guess I am outta here if nothing is going to actually change but the names. |

Posted 30 Mar 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: Ummm.....if, like Sirius suggested....they were to go with a 1 year term....then we would be completely stuck with a terrible mod for that six months. +1 Edit: I never had any problems with the posters when I was a mod here...as long as they understood why you were having to mod them, most of them were fine about it. I am sure the new mods will find the posters here as friendly as I did as long as they remember that little respect for people can go a long way towards making their job easier. |

Writer Arthur C Clarke dies at 90
(Message 732159)
Posted 30 Mar 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: A great loss to science and fiction. His writing bought the two together in an exciting and accessible way..even now I use his short stories in my classes to help illustrate principles from physics to my students. I hope I can ignite their enthusiasm for the subject in the way his writing helped ignite my own. "I don't pretend we have all the answers. But the questions are certainly worth thinking about.." ~ Arthur C. Clarke |
