Posted 7 Apr 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: Isn't it horrible the lengths someone will go to to cling onto power? I guess we just have to take heart that even thought this person will do as much damage as they can before they go..the end is in sight. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see them do something drastic in an attempt to crush the opposition and remain in power. |

Posted 6 Apr 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: ... Are we be willing to Cop our own selves, individually? People need to be given a chance to respond first of all to peer pressure or even 'policing'. It is called lead time when a person authority wants someone to change something or obey and you actually give them clear warning and time to respond. It has to be a reasonable time..for example..if you ask someone to do something in the middle of what is their night they are unlikely to do so. This can either be interpreted as wilful disobedience or that they are asleep. A logical and reasonable person would assume the latter. However...there should also be time given for the peer group to point out that something said is unacceptable. Often you would find that the forum police would have no need to step in at all. |

I couldn't find my Camera..and after the kids got back soaking wet from the park we curled up with hot chocolate in front of the telly and watched Raiders of the Lost Ark. My boys haven't seen the Indian Jones movies before so bought them the other day to show them. I am very excited by the new Indiana Jones movie coming out soon. |

Posted 6 Apr 2008 by Es99 (part ii) Post: if they are convinced they can read minds. i agree with you, but I think you misunderstand what I am saying. If someone is persecuted by people with 'power' for not what they have actually done, but for what they have been accused of, then policing yourself isn't really an issue is it? Thought Crime. Or even having an opinion that others don't like. Who knows? I think I have it figured out...but things I find blindingly obvious, other people don't seem to see. Then they get annoyed with me for pointing it out. :D ..and then because they don't understand they make up all sorts of weird stuff about what I am actually saying so that their world still makes sense. Sometimes I find it extremely frustrating. I think it is a problem with the written word..people can read things how they want with out the guides of facial expression...and of course on an international board their can be cultural and language barriers to understanding. So perhaps a better suggestion that policing yourself would be for people to try to understand what people are writing a little better...see what is written rather than who has written it. |
