Looking at my account page I noticed that the Seti credits total, at bottom of page under the Projects in which you are participating heading is about a month out of date.

Those stats are collected and analysed by, and displayed from, a third party collation site: I think it's BOINC Combined Statistics.

BCS is showing a project "Total Granted Credit" of 64,674,389,474 - compare with BOINCstats, which is showing Total Credit 67,709,475,635 as at around 6 am, 23 February 2009.

Both (indeed, all) stats sites get their data from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/stats/, which at the time of writing is showing

 db_dump.xml 16-Jan-2010 19:35 701
 host.gz 16-Jan-2010 19:31 399M
 tables.xml 16-Jan-2010 19:35 737
 team.gz 16-Jan-2010 19:35 5.8M
 user.gz 16-Jan-2010 18:54 68M

Slightly more than a month, Andy, but a good guess!

I can't begin to guess how and why they had to go back that far - must have had to restore a backup image of the webserver from that date, which implies some very serious damage incurred.

Since our personal stats in the main body of the account page seem to be as expected, the exported stats should return to normal the next time the 'dump' process is run (once every 24 hours, when things are running normally), and the external sites will in turn show the correct figures once they've downloaded the files and digested them. But in the meantime, expect much wailing and gnashing of teeth (and conspiracy theories) from people who see the figures but don't understand them.

"Wailing and gnashing of teeth" was NOT my intention - I merely posted information.

Hi, still got a day, I guess, of work for SETI, but also can't upload about 100 task's.
Probably a good time, to clean out the dust in all rig's and reseat a heatsink which doesn't make much contact with the CPU, as it get's too hot (96C) and only has a mild (10%) OC.
BOINC doesn't even try to UPLoad, since yesterday!

Hi Fred,

To be correct, it isn`t BOINC, it`s SETI. I`m on some other projects right now,
and uploads/downloads are doing just fine.

All the best !

Nah, we were unlucky again. As long as it didn't hurt anyone, a meteor this size slamming into or exploding over the ocean would be pretty cool.

Quote from the site : "The risk of a future impact with the object is not yet known."

Who knows, your wish could be fulfilled !!!

Links : BoincLogX

MapView

Einfach beide Programme installieren & verknüpfen - Fertig !

Noch einen schönen Abend,

19) Message boards : Number crunching : BOINC, Ver 6.4.5, is ignoring "Additional work buffer" (Message 853824)
Posted 15 Jan 2009 by Profile the silver surfer
Post:
Well like I pointed out earlier on in the thread, 6.2.19 does just fine with not missing deadlines, and is almost perfect for the 4-day cache I have set.

6.4.5 dropped me down to less than a day of cache because it didn't think I would finish WUs with a 3 week deadline that I just got a few hours before. It's calculations of how much work you can do and keep in cache are not quite right. Going back to 6.2.19 immediately requested 3 days worth of work.

That's all I was getting at. I think someone pointed out that it thinks APs will take hundreds of days or something like that instead of something more reasonable.

I had the same problem with 6.4.5, although I crunch Seti MB ONLY.(No CUDA)
Went back to 6.1.0 from Crunch3r - No more probs since then.

[quote]We can have no idea of the overall CUDA rate from Matt's "currently roughly" remark. I suspect some snapshots would show lower, others higher - but how much lower or higher, neither of us has any way of knowing. An alternative factoid would be the List of recently connected client types, currently showing 14.25% Windows v6.4.5 (and hence potentially CUDA-capable).[/quoted]

I`m using 6.4.5 WITHOUT CUDA, just to be up to date with Boinc.

[quote]As it happens, I strongly agree with Mark that the CUDA release was a deeply flawed technical exercise. He has indicated in public that he has been told the behind-the-scenes reason for the release, but has been forbidden to repeat the information in public. I have heard much the same story in private from other people. It deeply saddens me that such secrecy has come about in an international, academic, scientific, publicly-funded (as in us, the public) research effort as this.

I think that both the technical, and the public relations, aspects of the CUDA release have been extremely poor, and need urgent remedial action. It spoke volumes that no member of the SETI@home project staff was prepared to be named, or quoted, in NVidia's press release on SETI CUDA launch day.[/quoted]

Exactly my point of view...........

Regards

Kurt

BTW: What`s wrong with my BBCode ???????????
