SOY NUEVA EN ESTO Y QUISIERA SABER EN ESTO QUE DICE TOTAL CREDIT QUE ES....... ALGUIEN QUE SEPA ESPAÑOL POR FAVOR.... GRACIAS

Hola Anie!

Saludos
Tiare.-

P.D: Lamento mi demora!

Nice photo site you have. Wonderful work there! Plus, I am surprised to find that I remember enough Spanish to read most of the captions.

Hey! Thank you very much. I really appreciate your comment.
Actually I should write in English too, but I get lazy and I just write in my native language. lol

Missing: Large lake in southern Chile (wonder what Tiare will say about this?)

Wed Jun 20, 6:44 PM ET

SANTIAGO (Reuters) - A lake in southern Chile has mysteriously disappeared, prompting speculation the ground has simply opened up and swallowed it whole.

The lake was situated in the Magallanes region in Patagonia and was fed by water, mostly from melting glaciers.

It had a surface area of between 4 and 5 hectares (10-12 acres) -- about the size of 10 soccer pitches.

"In March we patrolled the area and everything was normal ... we went again in May and to our surprise we found the lake had completely disappeared," said Juan Jose Romero, regional director of Chile's National Forestry Corporation CONAF.

"The only things left were chunks of ice on the dry lake-bed and an enormous fissure," he told Reuters.

CONAF is investigating the disappearance.

One theory is that the area was hit by an earth tremor that opened a crack in the ground which acted like a drain.

Southern Chile has been shaken by thousands of minor earth tremors this year.

Wow, this news was heard around the world. It's a very important proof of what's happening on the planet, I'm CONVINCED this was caused by man. But no one seems to take action of this (I'm talking about authorities).

There were hundreds (I think it was thousands) of small tremors from the beginning of this year, people started to leave their houses and living at the highest part of this Southern city. 2 months ago there was a tsunami, yes a tsunami!, with 7 people dissapeared. Scientists said nothing was going to happen, but It was too late.

I'm not sure what's is going to happen in 10 or 20 years, but no one seems to care...Our ex-president Mr. Ricardo Lagos was chosen by ONU between 2 other international (and important) people to investigate about climate change. But where is the point of that if they cannot take action of what's happening. They said China and U.S are the most pollutant countries in the world, but have they changed something with that conclusion?

Another climate change proof: All our central zone of the country was snowy yesterday. That never happens! Last time was 14 years ago, so we were all surprised by this.

Same thing is happening in our Antartica. Many scientists have died because of huge fissures on the ground. They were "safe" places to transit before. But it's literally melting in front of our eyes.

What a pity.

Greetings
Tiare.-

Perhaps this is an absurd question, but a few days ago, everytime I turn on my computer the graphics boinc windows opens. I try to close it but it appears on my desk again.

Is there any option I have to change?

Thanks

If the graphic window is no longer displaying that behaviour then, it's a possibility that you were running an Astropulse 4.16 WU on the Beta project. That had an error where the graphic window opened automatically. Those workunits were the cancelled by Eric because of this problem

oh, thank you very much. I'll abort them.

What version of Boinc? I know that one of the early alpha v5.10.x had that problem.

It's 5.4.11 version.

Thank you.

Thank you very much Nobody. I have read all your best wishes and you can't imagine how happy that makes me feel. You are a wonderful person, as well the people in Seti@home community.

I'm glad you like that picture, I'll try to take more pictures as soon as I'm able to go out again ;)

Hey Beethoven! that drawing is great!! and yes, I saw that little orange detail, same thing with my nephew's sign at right, as you can see it has a mix of red and a little white triangles at the center ;)

And thank you for your recovering wishes, I'm feeling very cheered up today, hopefully to have an even better day tomorrow. I don't want to stay at bed without even able to move a finger because of fever and pain again, lol

Love and light,

awwww Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! this is really amazing, I didn't expect it at all!!! you almost made me cry, but of happiness, of course.

The worst part of it is that most of my family got sick at the same time, (not very fun listening a whole family cough without stop), luckily my older sister was the only one capable to take care of all of us.

After spending one week with that famous ear's infection (which made me feel dizzy...)I got Influenza right the next week, so my body had to resist two problems in this short time.
(My BOTD body lol, just kidding). When I thought everything was fine, I was sick again.

I'm returning to my work tomorrow, and hope to feel ok again next week....I've got plans ¬¬ haha.

An as you can see my mood is much better, so don't worry ;)

THANK YOU ALL!!! You are the best!!!

Thank you very much Nobody. Unfortunately I haven't had the strength enough to look at the computer. I'm actually very sick and the process to recover is very slow. I'm going to stay for 5 more minutes around the internet and I'll go to rest again.

And yes, my nephew has a lot of imagination :D

Streams of Stars Reveal Cannibal Nature of Milky Way

HONOLULU-Newly discovered stellar streams that arc around our galaxy might be the remnants of cannibalized star clusters and galaxies, scientists announced today.

The stellar streams findings reveal our galaxy can be a dangerous place for passersby, said researcher Carl Grillmair of Caltech, here at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society.

Stellar streams are thought to form over billions of years as our galaxy's gravity slowly tears apart globular clusters and even dwarf galaxies. The stars, which were once packed tightly together, are now separated by light-years, trailing one another as they jet at high speeds through the galactic halo....

Wow, this is quite interesting, thank you very much for posting this Sarge

Long time no see, here are some interesting news:

Copyright, Science Daily:

"TUCSON, June 6 (UPI) -- U.S. astronomers have released more than 1,200 high resolution images of Mars, making them available on the Internet.

The University of Arizona-based team said anyone connected by Internet can see Mars better than at any time in history through the High Resolution Imaging Experiment, or HiRISE -- the most powerful camera to orbit another planet.

The scientists operating the HiRISE camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance orbiter not only released 1.7 Terabytes of HiRISE data -- the largest single dataset delivered to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's space mission data library -- but also a user-friendly way for the public to easily see HiRISE images.

The HiRISE camera takes images of 3.5-mile-wide swaths as the orbiter flies at about 7,800 mph between 155 and 196 miles above Mars' surface. For at least the next 18 months, HiRISE will collect thousands of color, black-and-white and stereo images of the Martian surface, resolving features as small as 40 inches across while covering about one percent of the planet.

Hola!

Seti.cl was one of the reasons that made me rejoin the world of Seti@home. Unfortunately without a website it's kind of lonely.

That's why I move on to Overclockers.cl, I'm not an overclocker, but they were kind enough to receive me.

We had a BOINC project website, but without the support of Chilean users, it's kind of hard to continue.

Hope we can contact someday to see what we can do.
