On a personal level I'm one of the newer active members of both the team and forum and have received no end of help and advice on everything from Boinc and it's projects to what leather cleaner to use. The forum is full of specific areas for projects and team goals but has many areas for general chit chat, hardware/software tips and advice in fact just about anything you want to talk about (as long as it's legal) and a chat room where you can get to know your fellow members better.
