(Message 2045818)
Posted 19 Apr 2020 by dcanter Post: There is still work to be done (for now). They stopped putting new data in the queue on 31 March, but there are still work units needing validation, etc.. Two of my PC's have been running non-stop since the hibernation began. |

Posted 20 Mar 2020 by dcanter Post: I have seen it written in several places that new work units will no longer be available after 31 March 2020, but what about the unfinished work units that are still on our computers after that date? Will they still be collected? Thanks |

When will we see Hydrogen cars?
(Message 947198)
Posted 14 Nov 2009 by dcanter Post: When will we see Hydrogen cars? To be honest, I hope that we never do. "More energy is needed to isolate hydrogen from natural compounds than can ever be recovered from its use" says fuel cell expert Ulf Bossel. http://www.physorg.com/news85074285.html Also, I feel that the reason there is such a big push for hydrogen powered cars is because selling hydrogen at local fueling stations is a continuation of the profit model used by petroleum companies through-out the 20th century. They want you to drive to their store, buy their product, and then go about your business. If you could just plug your car in at home like an appliance, it would mean the end of their revenue stream. I would love to see us start looking beyond what makes a profit, and start looking at what makes sense. In the long run, renewable energy from sources like solar, wind, and geo-thermal is the way to go. Dennis |

Is Nibiru Approaching?
(Message 947184)
Posted 14 Nov 2009 by dcanter Post: In regards to the continuing hype around 2012. Seth Shostak, the Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California recently interviewed David Morrison of NASA. http://radio.seti.org/ David Morrison (who specializes in the study of near-Earth objects) said that if Nibiru was going to hit us in 2012, it would already be inside the orbit of Jupiter and would be one of the brightest objects in the night sky. Nibiru? End of the world in 2012? Rubbish! |
