Gals and Gents,

I need some help. All my tasks just disappeared from my client and I can not get new task as at server side all my tasks are still in progress. How can I force the server to re-send me the tasks or how can i get new ones instead?

Matt,

I have a bunch of quads that are out of work. They keep getting the following message. Any ideas?

8/9/2007 3:30:41 PM|SETI@home|Requesting 3490560 seconds of new work
8/9/2007 3:30:46 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 511]
8/9/2007 3:30:46 PM|SETI@home|Deferring communication for 11 sec
8/9/2007 3:30:46 PM|SETI@home|Reason: requested by project
8/9/2007 3:30:46 PM|SETI@home|Deferring communication for 1 hr 15 min 36 sec
8/9/2007 3:30:46 PM|SETI@home|Reason: no work from project

The "why" can be found at this address:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html

Actually what you are interested in is the following:

sah_splitter1 kosh Disabled
sah_splitter2 klaatu Disabled
sah_splitter3 penguin Disabled
sah_splitter4 kang Disabled

Results ready to send 0 0m
Current result creation rate 0.10/sec 0m

This is why you get "no work from project" messages.

uploading OK. Reporting is slow. Downloading new work non-existent. I just changed my cache back to one day from two days, yesterday because I thought everything was stable again.

It is not wise to keep cache at that low level.
I just increased it to 4 days. There could be soo many problems with the communication. Even on your side.
