Posted 18 Aug 2008 by ![]() Post:
Boinc doesn't allow for clustering. You will need to network the computers to access the Internet and install Boinc and attach each unit to the project using the same account. Each box will crunch independently.
you cant cluster multiple towers together? isnt that the same basic thing as multiple cpu servers? minus the extra hardware shane |

Posted 18 Aug 2008 by ![]() Post: well im back after my 6 month downtime. but im in the game now. here it goes. what would be the easiest way to interconnect 3-5 towers to form one machine to do crunching. as these are going to be older machines i realize that i wouldn't benefit from this much but its more of an experiment before i dedicate a few good computers to the job. ive got my computers my networking gear and odds and ends all here in a pile. what would be the easiest way to go about this. what software should i use ect....? thanks shane |

Posted 26 Dec 2007 by ![]() Post: the top is pushed outwards. but it climbs till my meter resets to zero. the good one does the same. so is the bad one still alive? the shorted cap is holding a charge. although its draining alto faster than the good one. so i guess that could be the problem? the bad cap has a charge of .2v the good one charges up to about 1.3v with the multimeter. so i guess its time to go shopping for caps? shane |

Posted 25 Dec 2007 by ![]() Post: yes the caps go off the scale then back to 0.0 even while switching polarity. so the cap should be good. what if i pull the cap and it just says at 0.0-0.3. or it climbs to about 20.-50.? then they would be bad? thanks shane |
