(Message 2139652)
Posted 20 Aug 2024 by James C. Post: I recently started a Star Trek binge and finished Star Trek: Enterprise. After that, I moved on to Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'm thinking of diving into the classic series next, which is surprising since I've seen all the other spin-offs except for the original. Watched "The Americans", "For All Mankind", and "Silo" recently and thought they were all very good. Makes me smile to see a thread I created still active. :) |

A random question: sponsored by "Young James"
(Message 1980257)
Posted 14 Feb 2019 by James C. Post: Dr Who Fan thank you for the reply. I bought the house over a year ago. It was not disclosed in the seller's disclosures. They did, however, note that the tank was pumped prior to the showing of the house. This problem started as soon as 2-3 months of owning the house. |

Posted 14 Feb 2019 by James C. Post: Hello Friends, I apologize for my absence but I come seeking advice. I bought a house (mistake) and am on a septic tank with a seepage pit. The seepage pit fills way above the groundwater level with grey water. This causes the septic tank to back up because the grey water is waiting to disperse to the water table and starts waiting in the septic. I was told by a sketchy septic guy that I could pour chlorine or put chlorine tablets down the access port of the seepage pit (not the septic) and that it will clean out the clogged areas. I feel that adding poison to the ground water table is not really the answer. He mentioned they used to pour hydrochloric acid down those in the past to clean them, but it is now illegal. Has anyone delt with this problem? Being a new homeowner I am already extremely strapped for cash and am looking for a cost-effective/legal/ethical way to handle the problem. Septic crews in the area are reporting $650-$800 to just treat and clean the pit with chemicals but without exposing it. If they have to dig it, it will be about $5,000-$10,000. I am humbly seeking any advice that you guys can give. Tech Info on the PIT/Septic. Septic: Capacity-900/g Seepage Pit: Diameter-38" Depth Overall-36' Depth Effective-31'6" Distance From Septic-9' Thank You in advance for any replies. |

Phone scam from India-Your Microsft computer is crashing our system.
(Message 1835434)
Posted 11 Dec 2016 by James C. Post: I often get these calls on my Grandmother's land line. I enjoy the Monday approach a lot as well, although I am typically not as aggressive. I like to tell them that I am on crutches and it will take me a minute to get to the computer, and just place the phone face down somewhere near the TV so its really loud when they are waiting. Of course I have walked through with them up until the point where I am installing Team Viewer then immediately have to use the rest room and we hook back to the phone being face down near the TV. It's quite an interesting scam, and it's sad that they have likely compromised a lot of people's computers. |

Posted 11 Dec 2016 by James C. Post: I am not a really emotional person, but I read this last night prior to going to bed and this haunted me for hours. I just really have nothing to say to express my sorrow. There are a lot of names here on the board you will always just "know." I am likely not one of them, but this just really is sad to hear. I will miss seeing him beeps and conjectures here on the board. I wish I was a little better at expressing my thoughts on the matter but to go millennial on you guys this sucks so bad. |

Posted 11 Dec 2016 by James C. Post: Again not sure if this would match current interests. But I have watched the Star Wars animated series "The Clone Wars." I enjoyed it a lot as far as the lore and story goes from the original three vs the new three + the newest one. It was interesting, if you can get past the "kid" like animation it was decent. |

Since that time (roughly a year) I have been promoted from the third shift position to Front Office Manager, to assistant general manager. I am hanging in there, but its a lot of work. I'll never forget my Seti friends! I am always near by. |
