I've tried and tested it... there's no malware or spyware of any kind. This guy, Jason Stallings, did a swell job with this app, which searches for all kinds of download links using Google without going through the very large number of alternative search terms. It's user friendly and easy to use. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Other-Internet-Related/Google-Hacks.shtml Enjoy!!! :]] Beets |

They're nice to have but it will take me ages to learn how to use them! Did you know (for example) that the Steinway Company not only makes physical concert pianos, but also an amazingly complex virtual sythesizer called "Cubase SX 3"? And master music designer Rob Papen has a number of VSTi applications (Virtual Synthesizer Studio instruments) such as Albino3, Predator and LinPlus that add hundreds of weird and wonderful sounds to your composer's aresenal. Now you too can become the next Orange Tangerine! LOL (All you have to do is climb a learning curve as tall and steep as Mount Everest!) :]] I wish I could post some pics but now Photoshop wants $25 from me to use it any further. Hmnn... :[[ I pretty much have all I'll ever need, so I hope to be back here more often. :]] I trust all the finches are well? Are you still playing some chess with your son? Posted 30 Aug 2009 by ![]() Post: A few years ago I had a field near Wichita, Kansas, where I raised peonies. One day I went to work on the peonies, parking my truck on a terrace. As I worked, I noticed a couple of dogs courseing in another part of the field. Then the biggest skunk {at least it seemed that way} I had ever seen ambled into view along the terrace. Needless to say I froze. When it reached about three feet away, I must made some kind of movement. It whipped into position, with its tail raised, and looking over its shoulder. The tableau was frozen for what seemed like forever. I was hopeing those dogs would stay wher they were. I guess it decided I was part of the landscape, because it resumed its normal position and started toward the truck. Again I must have made some slight movement, because instant replay, and I was stareing down the barrel again. It must have decided I was nothing or that it had scared me to death, because went back to normal position and walked off behind the truck. I was almost sick from lack of breathing. I decided I had done enough with the peonies, got in the truck and went home. Good story, Ed. :]] I had an ex-girlfriend like that; whenever you were about to do something she didn't like, she threatened to make a big stink! LOL |

Posted 27 Aug 2009 by ![]() Post: Heyas Beetz. Heyas Mike! Gott gruss!!! :]] August passed just so very quickly! We had a few nice days of weather and I made it to the local beach a couple of times. I have these killer swimming trunks: they're like wide Bermuda shorts in red and white with huge Hawaiian flowers printed on them. It was quite the conversation piece, lots of people came over to ask me where I got them (Old Navy). I hung out around the yacht club some, even though I no loner have the "Steadfast". A few friends were kind enough to take me out with them. I just bought a cell phone from the local pawnbroker; it's an LG "Shine" (CU720). It's almost like having a mini laptop with everything you can do with it: music, pictures, camera, phone, messanger etc. My thumb is out of practice though..I don't think I can text any faster than 4 words a minute. :]] How have you and your wife been? Posted 22 Jul 2009 by ![]() Post: Hello Dear Friends, I hope you are well!!! :]] So the other day I'm in Walmart with my year-old electric shaver and I'm looking to buy some new blades for it (man doesn't live by straight razor alone). The girl at pharmacy who's nearby pages the customer service rep, a 60+ year old woman with a sour expression, who turns up after about 10 minutes. I'm checking the shelves again while I wait for her: nope, no blades for the razor I bought. One set of other blades has prominently displayed on its cover, "Buy new blades every 2 years for good performance". That turns out to be helpful. Sourmouth say, "You need to have the shaver model number". I tell her, "That's why I brought the razor; the number HT5225 is on the flap on the back". So we go through the various packs of blades but we don't see the number. The problem, you see, is that Phillips the manufacturer is out with sever new systems and it seems Walmart is stocking only the blades for the new ones. Sourmouth shrugs and says, "Well, we don't have any" [so you can take a flying leap]. I say, "That's not good enough. I want to speak to the store manager." She says she'll page him. Another 10 minutes go by. Then she turns up, saying "I've paged him three times and there's no answer. There's nothing more that I can do." Then she turns on her heels and leaves. I'm suspicious. Sourmouth was so deliberately unhelpful througout that I doubt whether she actually did page the store manager. So I go over to the pharmacy and I ask them to page the manager. The girl tells me right away that the manager is not on duty in the evening, but she'll page the Duty manager for me. I'm only waiting 3 minutes this time and up he shows! I tell him we've got a product service issue. I say I bought my third or fourth Phillips electric razor from Walmart [establish customer history] and they've always kept blades for them on sale for a few years. I point out that "Change blades every two years" bit. I tell him that Walmart's policy must be to make blades available for its electric razors...otherwise [sweeping my hand over the vast array of blades] you wouldn't even be keeping these. The Duty manager says, "I see you have a point". He then suggest we carefully look over the blades once again, and so we both start doing that once again. He picks up a package of brand new model razor blades. I tell him I doubt those would fit; they're part of a new tri-part system where the blade holders fold down individually. "Maybe so", he says, "But look..the razor listing on the back of the pack says HT5225. So they must fit." "Wow!" I tell him, "You must be right. I didn't even read the numbers on that one because the system is so different. I asked the right guy to look into this. Thank you very much!" I took the blades home and sure enough, they fit. The point(s) of this silly little story... Persitence. In today's world you need persistence. If you need corporate help, go as high up as you can. That's how he got to be an executive; he knows how the company works and knows how to get things done. Don't make too many assumptions just because the tech is new. I didn't read the new blades package because the tech was so new and different -ooking. The duty manager knew that his company's policy was to offer product support and accessories. So he went and read the package I had cast away..he didn't make assumptions. Hey! I may be onto something! There's need for a new book: " Interacting, Day-by-Day for Dummies" You write it and I'll be sure to buy a copy. :]] Big Hugz, Beets |
