Posted 7 Mar 2012 by Edward Manteufel Post: HI everyone I have a storage problem. I want to put boinc and its wu's on their own drive as well as add more drives for other storage. However i have all 8 ports on my mainboard filled up. Ive been looking at sata 3 controller cards but cant decide which ones to get. i see some that are less than $50 and some that are over $400. I dont need them to have RAID capability but i do want them to be reliable. Am i ok getting the cheap ones or are the expensive ones worth it? Thanks again |

GTX 580 down throttling on CUDA WU's Help..
(Message 1201289)
Posted 1 Mar 2012 by Edward Manteufel Post: Ive noticed my 580gtx no longer gets above 40C when crunching 2 work units and noticed that in gpu-z the core clock is throttled down to 405mhz and the memory clock is down to 162mhz.. why is it doing this? i want it to run these wu's at full speed and capacity! I do have evga precision running but i have the gpu clock speeds set to the factory setting. so i dont know why its going so low when it has a load put on it. |

Posted 9 Nov 2011 by Edward Manteufel Post: OK thanks alot everyone i have 2 WU rinning now on my 560 at 12min for 2 . I now ask. since i installed the lunatics app it said i could crunch with ati gpu. which in my home pc i have 2 ati 5750's however it doesnt seem to be using them, is there something else i need to do? change a value in the app_info file on that pc perhaps? However i did notice once i installed the lunatic app my Multibeam WU CPU time to complete went down from about 4 hours to 45min!! is that normal? |
