Boonyakieat Post: A few years ago, I and members of my family, went to Green Bank to take the “Seti tour” our tour guides were 2 wonderful women whose names I can’t remember. When we got to the part of the tour where they have the original antenna and equipment used by Frank Drake, both women told us that Frank himself decided to take the tour! They had to explain to him what he did with his own equipment! After the tour, they asked him how they did. He said that they did a good job! I wonder now where all that Seti information from Green Bank is going? Angie.

What I am trying to do is to get my towers to ask the Seti servers more often for work. If it helps, they have 4.0GB of RAM, and 99+GB free disc space available to Bonic and 99+GB free not available to Bonic. Seti takes up 14MB of disc space, there is nothing else on there. I don’t know what setting to change to get it to contact the Seti servers more often. I currently have the storage set for 9 days of work and some have an additional 4 days, some have an additional .1 day of work . Again I am no expert by any means and I’m sure it shows lol. Any help would be good. Angie.

Boonyakieat Post: That computer is a HP all in one that I got for my birthday. The whole computer is part of the screen. The only thing it’s ever done is to run Seti, including the GPU that is built in. Watching the 5 work units running it’s easy to see that the GPU is faster than the other 4. Now that I know what to look for I will check to see what can be found in this area. Thank you again.

I had this built for me to try and run a GPU. I can get this card changed out for a different one. When that time comes, would it be better to get an Intel GPU? I’m thinking of avoiding the driver problem with AMD. Any recommendations or guidance for an inexpensive GPU would be greatly appreciated.

Boonyakieat Post: Hi, just got a new machine : I5, windows 7, with a AMD ATI Radeon HD 2600/3650 RV630/RV635 (512mb) Driver 1.4.1734. I cant get any GPU work. I have all the GPUs turned on in the preferences. I read in another thread that you have to see an. “ open cl” line at startup or boinc cant run the GPU. I don’t have that line when I open boinc. That made me think that I have the wrong driver also. That person had a windows 10 and a newer GPU then I have. Would the same driver work for me? In the link provided there is no mention of 2600/3650, just 5000 and up. Please bear with me, my computer skills are almost 0. Thank you.

I get 4or 5 WU's that are pending, then I get a message that reads "Internet access OK project servers may be temporarily be down". How can this be when I get numbers for WU's then they back off downloading? I have tried to shut the computer down and forcing transfers but no luck. Is it me or seti? Any help would be most welcome as I don't know much about computers. Thanks Angela.

When I restart I either get "can't resolve host name" or "project has no jobs avalible" I also get "internet access OK -progect servers may be temporarly down" After that I push "do network communication" and nothing happens. Is there a way that I can set it up to ask for work more often? Everything worked ok until about 3 days ago. Ihave made no changes.As anyone can tell I am not that good with computers but I am willing to learn. Thanks again, Ang

When I go to ADVANCED and push "do network ....." nothing happens. This all started when the servers went down a few days ago.
