So don't be to humble. Some have been around longer than others. Some just have bigger pockets, or company machines they can use as well. It all comes down to one thing. We are all having fun doing something worthwhile. Aloha |

Donations to the Seti project (Pappa)
(Message 401293)
Posted 19 Aug 2006 by ![]() Post: Aloha It is good to see Pappa is still trying to dig up funds. Yes we have come back to Seti. And Yes We will be donating again in the near future. Beyond all the fighting and problems here. We do need to keep the search up. I do not know if /when we make contact that it will be a good thing for our planet, but then again if we do not try how are we going to know. Now secondly, I have 4 Scsi Dat Tape Drives of 2 each of different types, all collecting dust. So I guess I will need to talk to somebody to see if either are the same type. If so they are welcome to both of them. Pappa if you can point me to an e-mail to the proper people, that would be great. |

Posted 24 Jun 2006 by ![]() Post: Actaully Beethoven. Americans are car crazy, but if you look at the sales of the gas guzzlers, SUV's. Sports Cars , so on. You will se a downward trend already. Now if you look at the newer tech vehicles, Hybrids. You will see they have exploded, with serious backlogs on delivery because of it. Like the Toyota Prius, which has a 5 month delivery time right now in Hawaii. You will also see in the truck market a downswing in full size trucks with an upswing in compact/midsize trucks. The crunch is being felt, and Americans are already adjusting. |

HOW-TO: make your own optimized Linux Seti@Home app!
(Message 344303)
Posted 21 Jun 2006 by ![]() Post: I'll be filling that URL with more than just a static HTML page, probably either install a portal or a front page that links to Windows/Linux/whatever sub-pages. Can I suggest the Xayara CMS system. If you are looking to have something you can drop additions and other things into with little time involved. Well at least as little as possible once you get used to the system. You can look into it here. It has many modules. You will need access to a database server and have PHP 4.4 (double check this, may be lower) or higher installed on the Web Server. But with the loadable modules, you could have a forum board, news section and other interesting things installed. Could grow into a small community in itself. |

A word about moderation
(Message 344286)
Posted 21 Jun 2006 by ![]() Post: Hmm I see the moderators have decided that a 0 RAC means you get no say on the board. Well does not bother me, as I figure it will be about another month or so before mine hits 0. But what about the new user, has not returned and gotten credit for his or her first WU. But is having problems and wants to post on the board to get an answer? Opps I guess that new user is a worthless bugger then. Seems the moderators have a swollen ego problem since the crunchr3 strike. Even though Tony's bull should have been shut down right away by a moderator, as it was a personal attack. Something they are supposed to be here to prevent. Instead it was not only let go, but helped along by the moderators. But see many that went out on strike went not due to crunchr3s treatment, But due to staff issues and application issues. Oh and Raven, you fellow rogue, at least you got an apoligie from CA. He deleted posts of mine and called me a rogue as well. Oh and CA, I will give you the last post deletion duty you can preform for me. Go into the team recruit thread, and REMOVE Hawaiian Beach Bums. The team has voted, we will not be back. And last but not least, this is for Matt. My friend you are a project employee, and as one should not be putting up with a moderator belittling you in public. Things like this and little to no interaction from the founders of this project, is why you are bleeding crunchers so badly. Enjoy crunching folks, have a great day. |

Posted 14 Jun 2006 by ![]() Post: How is a post about Abu Musab relevant in any way to SETI? Well lets see, Hmm the atomic bomb drop, oh thats right we were at war with them. Maybe you should try and talk with a soldier that made it out of a Japanese POW camp. Listen to all the brutality and murder that went on there. We should have dropped 4 or 5 more bombs. As far as your conversion to Islam, I hope you read the Koran better than some have. As far as the 911 attacks,, did you lose anybody that day. Do you have to tell a neice and nephew daddy is never coming home? Most likely not. I lost a brother in law, and 4 good friends that day, came very close to losing my 3 daughters, as they were headed to the observation deck there as well. Personally I think they should cut this b@strd head off, put it on a stick for public viewing, cut his body up and stuff each part in a seperate pig and bury the peices in seperate places. excuse me for being a bit bent |
