Post: Good attitude RandyC!! I too am sad to see classic SETI be retired. Not negative, just sad like an old friend passing on. I let classic run on my measly 2 machines till it wouldn't load anymore units -- till after deadline. It had worked & I just left it alone (except for the crashing, reloading, couldn't connect to server, etc problems). Ok, so classic SETI didn't run for a few days, then I loaded BOINC. No big deal, the points are only for our ego & intersting to see/compare/track. The 'helping the science' is the main goal. Now we got classic SETI's younger stronger brother/cousin/son/daughter/etc to get to know and of course bitch about new issues LIKE ANY BUDDING FRIENDSHIP. Thanks classic SETI, be proud of your offspring. HiYa BOINC!! |
