Post: I'm almost finished reading a book called "Anathem" by Neal Stephenson. It started out in one direction and then took off in a totally different direction altogether. When I first saw it in the bookstore I passed it up but then later bought it and I'm glad I did. |

Post: I have a friend, a young lady I call Charlie, or Chuck for short. I introduced her to co-worker of mine named Tom. Tom fell madly in love with her and started wooing her. Tom asked Chuck to marry him and she agreed, however tom didn't like any of Charlie's furniture as it was all made of wood and he was afraid of splinters. He told her to get rid of it or the wedding was off. She said she couldn't as it was all family heirlooms and her mother wouldn't let her throw it away. Tom was very sad and didn't know what to do. He tried to talk to Charlie's mother and she finally agreed to let her throw away some of the furniture. He way overjoyed and told me about it. So I asked him "How much wood could a wooed Chuck chuck if a wooed Chuck could chuck wood" |

I remember years ago watching some comedian talk about his cooking disasters, basically he said "the recipe said grease the bottom of the pan, I didn't have any grease but I thought 'oil, grease, same thing' so I used some motor oil I had in the garage, but when they say 'the bottom of the pan, they don't actually mean the bottom of the pan, it actually means inside the pan. the fire marshal later said this is the first time he had seen anyone do that'" I once had a friend that cooked a mean beef stew, his secret ingredient was lots of tabasco sauce added in the last 15 minutes of cooking. Good stuff and it really cleaned out your sinuses. |
