I have suspended the work on the old PC and aborted the 2 work units. The old PC is ID 4620346 "larry-484c28372" and new is ID 5239501 "RampageE8400" When I do the 'go ahead and do this', I get a list of PC's, all of which I once had and those I currently have ! Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a copy of 6.4.7 that was on that PC before I had to reload XP. I could delete this 6.6.36 and load 6.4.7. I know it was working okay and is running on at least one other PC.

Had same problem until I used the app that came with the driver disc and installed the app to set fan speed %. It also adjusts bus speed, shader etc. I had to turn up fan speed to 89% ... It makes the PC much more noisy, but the GPU temps are 50*C and steady. No more Computation Errors or reboots.

I powered down the PC to change the monitor from a CRT to LCD. Connected the LCD, powered up the PC, and booted up. Set the display resolution, and went into Boinc. Called up the S@H Tasks and lo & behold there are 6 WU"s running, 2 of which are Cuda. SLI is turned off, but the strap is still in place. Maybe settings remain until the unit power is totally off. Anyway problem seems to be solved now. Thanks for the assistance and replies.

Went to Program data > Boinc and can't find cc_config.xml Checked out all the xml files listed there and nothing looks like it applies. Where might it be hiding ? Perhaps it's only in the older version. I also looked thru Program Files BOINC folder (it shows in 2 places on my drive) and nothing in there has an .xml file. I will pull the bridge strap and see if that changes anything. (tomorrow I will do that !)

Still only shows 1 Cuda wu and 4 Cpu wu's being processed, and in the startup messages, only 1 GPU being recognized.

(Message 207651) Posted 9 Dec 2005 by Larry Hyde Post: I have been running SETI@home sence march of 02 and started running Boinc sence I found out about it have been running them both and have not had any trouble untill Sat when i stopped uploading boinc I have read the Tech support area and found out that the problem is not on my end but now I am unable to download as well I have even made sure I am running the most current vursion of Boinc monday so am at a loose for why I can not get new work and I still can not upload any finished units between all 3 of my computers i have around 30 plus units finished and only 10 days tell they start passing the return deadline If it stopped on Saturday you might have a problem that we should investigate. The servers broke Sunday approximately 7 A.M eastern US time. Don't worry about your work, they have the validators off to make sure everyone gets credit, even those over the deadline. We've had this same thing happen several times in the past. tony I'm in the same boat. 4 PC's/6 cpu's and over 150 completed units that won't upload and getting closer to the date that they will expire. Still plenty of units being downloaded to me. So it seems a one way flow. Thru the message log there are many can't connect errors hi-lited in RED. Is this problem soon to be resolved; or will I lose these results eventually?

I have since downloaded the most recent 5.2.7 but would like to know if I can just install this or should I first uninstall the Seti@Home CLI. I have 4 PC's, all running the CLI app. Will each one have to be converted to 5.2.7 ? Yes, you'll need to install BOINC 5.2.7 on each computer. You don't need to uninstall the CLI, but you should stop running it. If you have both Classic and BOINC SETI running on the same computer, Classic operates at a slightly higher priority and will get the lion's share of the CPU time, leaving BOINC operating very slowly. MJ Thank you MJ. I will gradually reduce my CLI work units on hand on each PC and convert to Boinc when the last is completed; then stop and uninstall the CLI app's. and install the 5.2.7 app. I have some reading to do while this is going on. Thanks for the "BOINC Wiki" link; that will help in this conversion.

(Message 190063) Posted 18 Nov 2005 by Larry Hyde Post: The stated plan is that after Classic is shut down for good (most likely by year's end), the final stats from Classic will be posted into the Your Account section in SETI BOINC. It is important to understand that credit is calculated in a COMPLETELY different way with BOINC and the two will NEVER "merge". They will ALWAYS be reported as two separate values. As for not being able to login to the new system, please post more details...like the contents of the Messages tab in BOINC Manager so that someone can help you with this problem. I have been running BOINC since the public release on several VERY different machines. I am sure we can get you up and running on the new platform. I've tried to change to BOINC and more recently to the CLI/Boinc, but I can't log in. User name and password already in use.!? Also, I notice the Class of Aug 10,2004 is no longer being updated. Is that a problem or just part of the changeover?
