Whats the credits for?

I would especially like some of the people that have joined BOINC recently to take a look and see if this would have helped you when you first started.

Error -106: ERR_IO, a failure to read/write from the Disk Drive, or in the case of network transmissions, a failure to send and receive data.

A failure to send and receive data to and from a Project Server generally means that during the transmission to or from the Project Server, or a router along the way has reset the TCP connection between the BOINC Client Software and the Project Server. This can happen for a number of different reasons, such as the Project Server being overloaded, or packets being lost in route.

Given that the servers were down for routine maintenance, this makes sense. Just give it a little time.

As a side effect of my disability, when I get real tired or whenever it decides, I start to lose motor control. At times this means I get to visit the floor (its been awhile, how ya do'n?), when working I start to have trouble typing and worse, can't figure out, or remember, how to do those hard tasks like spell check ...

When i first moved from seti classic to boinc it was indeed a bit of a learning curve. But i asked a few questions..read the forums and went through the wiki site and things did get a bit easier and more able to understand. Although i do feel that there is not enough information for those of us that are "fringe users", or helpers to the projects on what moving to Boinc means or what changes we are going to experience. Just my two cents worth...

I agree that some of information for the novice or someone who is just starting out is hard to understand, but not all of it. I have had my share of problems to work out and have with the help of others here. By no means am I a programmer or rocket scientist, but the more I read and study from this site and others, the better I understand. I see people say things about the bad and the ugly, but if you are not in this for the "Fun" of it then you are just in the wrong place. Nothing is ever perfect and probably never will be, but I think for the amount of effort that is being put into this, everybody is doing a damn good job!

I just go with the flow, it can only get better!

I guess we all could walk away from the English language but words are swords and they cut a deep wound. Our lazy, anything goes, sound-bite generation is ready for subjugation or worse. Live in New England and see where we are going.

LOL, I pronounce it just like the word "boing" but with a hard "c" (K) at the end.

I don't know how it is pronounced, but boinc stands for Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing.
