Kein Problem Uli.

Here's the link to the new 2.3 DLLs http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;sa=dlview;id=208 and drop them in your C://programdata/boinc/setiathome.berkeley.edu folder. (note, this is for vista, others may be slightly different) Just drop them in there and they will overwrite the older ones. Be sure to stop SETI before you play around in there then restart when you are done.

Nice tip for me, too. Runs around twice fast as with the normal dll´s. Thanks a lot.

Okay folks, the problem is, that I will only run SETI at CUDA and the processor should do Einstein@home. I have installed the the package from Raimster and now SETI downloaded work. But now BOINC-Manager does only work on one core for E@H and one SETI task runs. Normally it should run 2 E@H-task and one SETI-task on GPU. What do I have to do? I am using BOINC-Manager 6.6.18.

I´ve looked across my invalid results. All (4 or 5) are -9 overflow-WU´s. No problem up to now, there is only one with bigger credits. The rest are only 0.0x credit WU´s. But I have also such WU´s that are granted...

Hello

Today I´ve seen my first invalid result with Chicken 2.2. You can look here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=479412464

This happend the first time. But I´ve seen that the speed of my CPU is shown false. Somebody could explain this?

So, erstmal ein riesen großes Lob für diese wirklich sehr gute Applikation. Ich bin vom Feinsten beeindruckt.

Nur ein kleiner Fehler ist mir in einem Resultfile aufgefallen:

<core_client_version>5.8.11</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>
Optimized SETI@Home Enhanced application
Optimizers: Ben Herndon, Josef Segur, Alex Kan, Simon Zadra
Version: Windows SSE3 32-bit based on seti V5.15 'Noo? No - Ni!'
Revision: R-2.2|xT|FFT:IPP_SSE3|Ben-Joe
CPUID: Intel Core 2 Duo 'Conroe 2M'
CPUs: 1, cores: 2, threads: 1 cache: L1=32K, L2=2048K, L3=0K
Features: MMX, SSE, SSE3, SSE3, SSSE3
speed: 1605120303 MHz -- read MB/s: L1=-2147483648, L2=-2147483648, RAM=-2147483648

Der Speed ist (leider ;)) eindeutig zu hoch. Normal sollte da 3002 stehen. Was auch sonst glaub ich bei allen Results steht. Ist mir zumindest nur das eine Mal aufgefallen.

On my C2D E6300 with Win XP Prof, i´ve got a problem with 5.8.8. The estimated prcessor-time is growing up. For example I need actually 1:40 minutes for a Einstein-WU. But BOINC says, that I will need over 2:36 hours. And this time is growing up with every finished WU...

Here is an email from Rom to Crunch3r about these theme:

Well I don't know what happened during the Beta. I'm not involved in the
S@H weekly staff meetings. David and I touch base daily over the phone
since I'm 900 miles away and work from home.

I think several things happened in the background that required the enhanced
applications release. I think the project deemed it was deemed good enough
and we'll fix whatever the issues are in route.

Rarely do you ever get to ship the perfect product when pressures are coming
from the people funding different things.

I think it would be a great loss to the community if you left. You offer a
product that people want. You are offering what David had hoped to get into BOINC before the S@H public launch.

We, the technical community, just need to keep driving toward the ideal
solution. With the ideal solution being science packages tailored for each
processor type and the BOINC client acting as only a scheduling agent. Of
course we have the other requirement of being easy enough to use that any
scientist can setup a new project and go after compiling in the BOINC API.
Which means the core client has to contain something for calculating credit.

I know things don't move as fast as the community at large would like. But
we are making progress. I hope you'll reconsider. After this next
education curve things should mellow out and maybe we can get optimized
clients on everybody's computer by default.
