(Message 2144977)
Posted 8 Jan 2025 by ![]() Post: “This is a present from a small distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope someday, having solved the problem we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our determination, and our good will in a vast and awesome universe.” RIP Jimmy Carter |

SETI@home hibernation
(Message 2036066)
Posted 5 Mar 2020 by ![]() Post: "The saddest part of this is to read the farewell posts of volunteers who have contributing since the beginning and have never posted before or only a very few times. For twenty years they silently and uncomplainingly kept this project, and hope itself, going, and now they have nothing more they care about to contribute to." Strong words.. that's me.. and many more as it seems.. I'm glad I was part of your (our) community.. Live long and prosper <3 masteraip member since 3 Apr 1999 |

Posted 4 Mar 2020 by ![]() Post: Sad things happen in life.. and apparently @SETI.. I remember the feeling when I first installed the Boinc client back in '99... watching this magical screensaver countless hours on my 1-cpu-1-core AMD Athlon.. the feeling that you belong to something bigger, that you can help achieve something unimaginable.. there are no words to describe this.. It was epic.. thank you! GG --- Name masteraip Country Bulgaria SETI@home member since 3 Apr 1999 |
