transient upload error
(Message 762543)
Posted 3 Jun 2008 by Rawhead Post: Little help please. It may just be a coincident, but I have been getting a transient upload error since Saturday when I swapped out Zonealam for Bitdefender. Is this related more to the issues Seti@Home is having or does this indicate another issue. I have tried to connect with Bitdefender disabled but have the same results. I have not experienced any other issues so I believe it’s on SETI’s side but any insight would be appreciated. Currently have my network activity on hold. 6/3/2008 5:37:58 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 18ap08ac.14577.4571.11.8.178_0_0 6/3/2008 5:37:58 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 05mr08ag.31209.17659.5.8.118_1_0 6/3/2008 5:38:01 PM|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 05mr08ag.31209.17659.5.8.118_1_0: transient upload error 6/3/2008 5:38:01 PM|SETI@home|Backing off 1 hr 12 min 48 sec on upload of 05mr08ag.31209.17659.5.8.118_1_0 6/3/2008 5:38:01 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 29mr08ag.5843.3753.14.8.146_2_0 6/3/2008 5:38:04 PM|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 29mr08ag.5843.3753.14.8.146_2_0: transient upload error 6/3/2008 5:38:04 PM|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of 29mr08ag.5843.3753.14.8.146_2_0 6/3/2008 5:38:04 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 03ap08ad.12912.10530.15.8.89_1_0 6/3/2008 5:38:07 PM|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 03ap08ad.12912.10530.15.8.89_1_0: transient upload error 6/3/2008 5:38:07 PM|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of 03ap08ad.12912.10530.15.8.89_1_0 6/3/2008 5:38:07 PM|SETI@home|Started upload of 30mr08ad.24097.7025.11.8.62_0_0 6/3/2008 5:38:10 PM|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 30mr08ad.24097.7025.11.8.62_0_0: transient upload error 6/3/2008 5:38:10 PM|SETI@home|Backing off 1 min 0 sec on upload of 30mr08ad.24097.7025.11.8.62_0_0 |

Always pinging network
(Message 255011)
Posted 28 Feb 2006 by Rawhead Post: BOINC has two seperate parts: BOINCMGR.EXE (the GUI) and BOINC.EXE. In order for the left hand to know what the right hand is doing, they communicate via TCP/IP and this comes through as internet traffic. If you block this traffic, BOINC will fail (as you discovered). Thank you!! |

Always pinging network

Posted 28 Feb 2006 by Rawhead Post: Since upgrading to 5.2.13 I have noticed BOINC is sending network traffic every 5 to 10 seconds. I am running Zone Alarm as my firewall, which is showing the traffic. I have set BOINC to pass when the Internet lock is on and the program is fine. But when I stop all traffic, BOINC crashes and must be restarted once the connection is opened again. What is this traffic and was does BOINC crash if it’s stopped? |
