This is driven by greed and nothing but greed. As we have all learned, except for the greedy, putting all your eggs one basket is STUPID and fraught with danger. If one goes down the other will collapse as it will be unable to coupe with the extra traffic and to add insult to injury they will make them selves a PRIME TARGET to ALL HAKERS determined to take down the US infrastructure.

This is nothing but GREED and lawful BLACKMAIL if aloud to go through and the end of ALL ISP's, computer sale and some computer manufacturers will suffer loss of revenue or closure with some ISP's having idle equipment due to lack of customers. THIS IS PURE GREED AND NOTHING MORE IT WILL NOT IMPROVE OR EXPAND THE SERVICE ONLY CHOKE IT UNTIL IT DIES.

Thank you Aurora Borealis that's resolved the problem. I was set to receive all three applications. The Astropulse V5 was automatically going in to 'High Priority' as soon as it was downloaded and robbing time/resources off my other projects. The only concern I have is that I have had many Astropulse v5 wu's before and had no problems with them, So why now is a mystery.

Hi,

I'm getting WU's with 180+ hours to be completed in one months time. This is impossible to complete in this short time span due to running another nine projects. I have a Intel 3.2E 800Hz FSB processor (has two cores) Is there any errors in the programme that is or may not be detecting that you are running multiple projects and therefore not able to process such large WU's in such a short space of time.

Hi,

I've noticed that the new astropulse WU's require 185 Hours to complete in one month. This is fine if you run one or up to five projects but for people like me who run five+ projects its not possible to complete these in the time allotted e.g. Present WU 2:15:56 0.874% 184:26:02 Due Date 12/05/2009? NOT POSSIBLE therefore I have to abort WU's due to them take time off other projects.

The PC I've just built uses 1500 watt PSU and is quieter than my other one which runs a 650 Watt PSU. The noise level depends on how much you spend on it.

Running two PSU's from different mains power is safe but you have to remember to switch off BOTH PSU's before you work on your PC.

Hi,

To get the correct PSU for you computer I'd advise using a power calculator like this one. http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/

Its actually the Amps that are important than the watts but its easier to work with Watts as most Manufacturers do quote their product power rating in Watts.

I to build my own computers as Manufacturers give you the least for the most money i.e. profit.

Could some kind soul please tell me how to get boinc v6.2.15 (pre install) for linux to connect? I've tried 'localhost' then 'password', no joy other than boinc client freezing now and then. I've tried reboot and allowing boinc to connect in this way and still to no avail? I'm running Fedora core 8 with all updates installed. I'd try manually installing but don't know how to do this either as I'm new to linux although I have a reasonable idea of the filing system its self.

Off the subject: It would be a great advantage if the linux developers would create an installer that can install any file correctly, like Microsofts installer. This I believe would get thousands of disillusioned Microsoft users to switch to one of the many linux OS as the fore mentioned is the main reason, I believe, for the slow uptake of linux OS's.

Hi,
I've had to reject my last wu as it had run for 36 hours with 36 hours left but stuck on 0,020% complete.

Then I could not get new wu, so I tried reset, no joy. So was forced to detach and then re-atach. I noticed that the download was erratic. It apppears that the connections are overloaded or failing to maintain its connection during download.

Any ideas anyone?

Post:
Hi everyone,
I've been reading the postings and visited ATI site, as my driver is old to, I noticed that there are only 2 updates for ATI 9600 series, a) 9600D ; b) 9600DE, but nothing for 9600D Ultra Pro cards (9600DU).

It may be possible that some of you may have updated their graphics cards with the wrong driver. I would advise all who have updated their divers to re-install the original diver, To prevent damage to the graphics chip, and contact ATI for the correct driver if any.

Regards

As our ability see futher into space we will find more stange and wonderful things. As I browse through texts and watch science programs I'm left wondering our we looking to far for some of the answers were looking for? I cant help seeing lots of resemblance's to the research in quontum physics. It maybe that some of the laws in quontum physics could also apply in outer space or even vise versa. Which makes me think should both sciences get together and exchange thier findings to see what resemblances there are.

It seems that some people forget how our children learn to speak, wright and spell. They assume that ET hasn't the ability to decypher our language nor theirs.

Not so long ago we learned new languages and ancient texts that had been long forgotten. So it is possible to learn other languages that are from cultures other than ours. It just means that both parties require starting with the basics like the Alphabet, numbers and pictures just like a child does.

It my take many years to learn each otheres language to the level of fully understanding each othere without miss-understandings, But what fun it would be. You never know what technological or medical information could be exchanged to help both parties.

Now laser light.... fast, pin point and thousends of frequencies ideal for incripted measages. I think this is more like the communications or simualar, that would be used.
