US navy team is the way to go.

During this sever replacement and set-up time request US Navy SETI team members to crunch work units for our Project of the Month for November which is Malaria@home. An alternate POTM is PrimeGrid@home. We need to keep our computers warmed up for the return of SETI.

Saying the same as I said over there:

Delete your temporary internet files and the installer. Then download the file again from the BOINC web site (don't download from other sites, you never know what they did with it).

Thanks AGELESS...all is well now.

Upgrading from BOINC 6-10-43 to BOINC 6-10-56. After downloading 9 computers to this latest version unable to get it to load on my 10th computer. Running Window Vista Ultimate on a QUAD core and after giving the machine permission to download the latest version the message "ERROR READING SETUP INTIALIZATION FILE'. Have tried to download the 6-10-56 version from a number of different project sites. Have rebooted a number of times to no avail. Any ideas of what I have to do to get this latest version on this computer?

Asked this also on the Question& Answer board but this Number Crunching site is faster.

THE US NAVY SETI TEAM IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS TO JOIN OUR TEAM. FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER WE HAVE SELECTED SPINHENGE@HOME FOR OUR POTM.

The members of the US Navy BOINC Forum have voted for the Spinhenge@Home project to be the POTM (Project of the Month) for the month of November. If you cannot work this project we request you work the uFluid@home project. We ask all members of these volunteer projects who can spare some of their computers time to work the POTM so we as a great team can maintain our standing in these BOINC projects. All you have to do is bring up the ‘BOINC Manager’, click on ‘Tools’, click on ‘Attach to project’, and click on ‘Spinhenge@home’ and follow the direction.

If you are not a member of the US Navy BOINC Forum just click on this link to join up : Navy Team's Forum . Come on by, sign up and see what we do.

The POTM for the month of October has had fantastic results. The US Navy QMC team has gone from being 77 points behind the US Air Force in RAC to 106,742 ahead of them and we still have a few days to before we start on the Spinhenge@Home Project. Working together as a team in these various projects we can do so much.

Thanks,

Yank

Three of my computer have just quit running the BOINC program...6.6.38. All are Dell Quad cores and running the QMC project. One is a Windows XP OS and the other two are Windows Vista. The BOINC icon in the task bar shows the icon with a small red circle. I tried to reboot a number of times and the program opens up but then the red circle comes up on the icon in task bar. I have done a restore on all the computers but no change. I deleted the BOINC program and downloaded again. No change.Upon restarting the computers the icon come on and shortly thereafter stops working. My task manager shows the program working for a short time when turned on and then stops working. On the BOINC Manager under the message tab the information shows the normal start up of all projects I work and the start up of the projects I am working on that computer and nothing else. One dialogue box over the icon in task bar states 'reconnecting to client'. One dialogue box came up and some thing about "not a correct password". Have 7 other computers working and no problems. Any ideas about what the problem is?
