All I want to say is that I have been with the Seti Project since 5-31-99 and I have never seen such outright abuse of a man's character by people so-called representing a well-known project as what has been done to CRUNCH3R~!

I have joined my teammates in their boycott/strike!

If you check half a dozen or so posts up you'll see where Matt says he's disabled that option.

My setting in General Preferences have always been 60 minutes (same as 0.60):

"Switch between applications every (recommended: 60 minutes) minutes" from: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/prefs_edit_form.php?subset=global

The last time I received the messages up to the switch and then my home settiings, and then the GUI froze at the messages tab.

I agree with you here, although I have no adware, spyware, Trojans, worms, virii, or any other malware on my computer.

BUT >>> all three of my computers also have Seventeen or Bust installed on them, and Seti classic (I do not run Seti BOINC and Seti I together!).

Each and every one of us run different software on our computers, our registries are configured differently, as are our general system configs.

Berkeley cannot insure that each new build will be compatible with any computer (even the proper OS) owned by us.

Plus we here at home running Berkeley's software do not like to have to spend countless hours trying to configure Berkeley's software to their computers (I know that I don't) for we have real lives too outside of this project!

p.s. I run three AMD XP's and a 1.33 T-Bird

I just finished a complete uninstall of 4.09 and reinstall with 4.12, and it still just freezes after doiwnloading a couple of WU. I have tried since last night with two of my boxes and my laptop, and 4.12 freezes on all three of them.

I use Windows 2000.

4.09 works fine for me and I have never had any trouble with it. I hope that the new upgrade isn't a sign of future builds! Why Berkeley insisted that all BOINC'ers upgrade to this build, I do not know. And I see that I am not the only one who has had problems with 4.12.

I meant that I lost all of my cache of Predictir WUs, and Predictor is not downloading any new WUs and it seems that Seti isn';t sending any either, so now this box has nothing to work on so I am just retruning to another DC project I am active in.

It should have been posted as a warning or something that installing the newest client would delete all other caches and that there were no Seti Wus available for download yet!

I will wait until tomorrow to install 4.05 on my other three computers.

My Seti I account also did not merge with my Seti-BOINC account, although my team transferred over. Go figure.

Also . . .I have uploaded close to 75 WU in the past month with no credit for them showing, and have about 25 WU on four of my boxes that cannot upload. Thank goodness there is Predictor to move in, although both of these bOINC programs have issues!

In fact I had to open up a "new" account because my old email address was not accepted by BOINC when I downloaded and installed the BOINC client yesterday..

Now I have a new account with credits and my "team" account (Broadnand Reports Team Starfire) has no new BOINC credits but old Seti I credits.

Any idea where on my team I can find my "new" account for my "old" account does not show my new BOINC work.

Thanks,

Jammy (Jamilla Hall)
